I've just recently discovered Thank You Scientist, a band out of nearby Montclair NJ, and have been listening to them a lot this week. So far my favorite song is "Psychopomp".

Was reminded today that Led Zeppelin II is fifty years old! I bought it some time in late 1970 when I was twelve, one of the first half dozen vinyl albums I owned. I've got the CD on now, and currently it's WHAT IS AND WHAT SHOULD NEVER BE, one of my old favorites from back then.

I want to follow this thread, so I'm posting. But I usually listen to audiobooks - which doesn't seem to fit the feeling here.  ;D

PS: I first heard "Psychopomp" performed by the Bluecoats drum corps, which led me to search for the original source material. :)

My favorite Richard Thompson song:

PS: If you watch him play guitar, it blows my mind how he simultaneously uses a pick while plucking with 3 fingers.  :o

I've stood within ten feet of him and watched closely but I still can't figure out how he manages it :-)

La-La-Land Records released a 4-CD set of music from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, so I'm binge-listening to that while I write some material for the new Star Trek Adventures RPG. Fun times.

This weekend I've been listening to Scotty Anderson, who is sort of like Les Paul and Chet Atkins rolled into one:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3Ojj1GabBs" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3Ojj1GabBs</a>

He's an amazing player, and I speak as one who has played that style of guitar for over 50 years and is not even close to that accomplished. Bob Saxton (the older fellow) is pretty good, but he just stops and smiles when Scotty starts improvising fast runs. I'm lucky enough to have their live performance on DVD. This may be the first time these two guys have ever played together.
What you see depends mainly on what you are looking for.

I'll chime in with an audiobook. Am listening to Jingo by Terry Pratchett. 👮travel ⛵ to a desert 🐪, while others fight over an island with a giant 🐙
