Hey Michael Hicks!
I happened to be on Amazon (fine, I'll fess up and say I was checking on my own novel; sheesh!) and noticed the following phenomenon: your novel IN HER NAME for Kindle now has a sales ranking of 6,666.

Figured I'd pass this along. Doused myself in holy water first and blessed myself, of course.

Chris - LOL! Well, my mother always did think I was evil. And then I went off and wrote a book about blue-skinned female warriors wreaking havoc in the galaxy. No, don't bother psychoanalyzing that... ;D

And yes, it's a compulsion to go in and check the rankings, but in the Kindle Store one is likely to get seasick from watching them bounce up and down!

Another oddball note to Mike: just realized my last post to you, about your Amazon sales ranking of 6,666, was my post #6 on this board.

*bites fingernails*

Guess this post would be extremely important for me to send off like right away, huh?

I hate to be demanding, but it would be completely awesome if you could make one of these for The Whiskey Rebels. It's starting on Thursday.

I have a request/suggestion.  In the header (where you are delineating the current chapters to be read on a given week), could you also note the location number to end at?  Outlander chapters are numbered but Whiskey Rebels are not.  I have a hard time stopping some times. ::)

nicuknitter, excellent point. I have specified the locations for this week, and if you give me a few more minutes, I think I'm to go ahead and make a table of the locations for each week.

Mike,
Since we're going on with the book after Dead Until Dark, would it be possible to change the DUD leaderboard to "Southern Vampire Mysteries"?  that way everyone in it can just hang on to it until they feel like dropping out.  Would that be a lot of hassle?
thanks!

Robin - will do! In case I forget, though, since it'll be more than five minutes until I can get to it, just smack me (but no kilt wedgies, please!)... ;D

Yeah, only Jan has that privilege.   ;D

Could you do the same for Outlander?  We'll be starting the second book next week, so I think Robin's idea is a good one.  We already changed the name of the child board to Outlander Series so we can stick with that.

Thanks.

Gertie

Did you hide the banners somewhere?  I copied and pasted the original because I figured you had just changed that file, but nothing changed in my siggy.

Well, try recopying the original code at the head of this thread and pasting that into your siggy. Also, your browser cache may be holding onto the old one - you might have to clear it...

Mike,
Are you still making up new ones?
How about one for Boyd Morrison's The Ark?

Or shoot me the template and I can make one.
Thanks

Mike,
This is the reminder.
Kindly requested: a Book Klub leaderboard for Now In Progress: The Ark
And maybe:
a Discussion Thread: Treasure of La Malinche?
Thanks,
Geoff T.

PS: We probably should prepare a Discussion Thread leaderboard for Gerties new book too.  She started the thread and "we" will jump on it.
By the way I got all kinds of questions and remarks for you on your outstanding Omnibus. The old "couldn't put it down" thing.  A real page turner.  Do you want the comments in the Book Klub thread or privately?   Some of my questions/remarks will be comparisons to other works and while that is neat for me, I don't know if it is for everyone.  Whatever you think is best.
Thanks for everything, writing especially.

Aye! Will get to those this afternoon (just sent you a PM before I saw this - ha!). ;D

Definitely! I downloaded the sample, but haven't started it yet - trying to finish off Boyd's "The Ark".

As far as I'm concerned, feel free to post in the In Her Name book klub - even start a new thread there if you like (that might actually make the most sense). And I'm perfectly comfortable with comparisons to other works, etc., and other folks are certainly welcome to jump in with their opinions, too - after all, that's the joy of having discussions!  ;D

And you're welcome - glad you enjoyed it, and hope you'll enjoy IHN: First Contact when it comes out, too!
