Care to elaborate:  I'd love to put up a tiny pic of Sophia for you all to admire; she really was a beautiful dog.  Enough sad stuff; boy I sure enjoyed my halloween candy...glad I went to the dentist LAST month... (I showed him my Kindle)...just wait for my internist and my obgyn appointments...

Look around . . . instructions are right there.  I found them a few days ago.

My bro beagle (1954-1966).  I still miss him big time.

Please do post that pic. Sorry to hear about your dog.

The first pic is the hardest, as you'll have to set up a (free) account at a photo hosting service, like photobucket or Flickr.

The link that Sandpiper provided has instructions on it. Let me know if you run into troubles with the steps. It's one of those things that is easier to do than it is to write up. :)

I have a photobucket account; haven't used it in ages.  Ok; wow still doing it that way huh?  I thought that there was a savvy newfangled way.  Sh##! I don't think I even remember my password it's been so long.  I haven't used it since the old Kodak forum from my 1st digital camera. Thanks...I'll give it a whirl.

Okay, I got my first avatar up with instructions from some friends here... I downloaded a couple of others but yesterday when I wanted to be in costume I couldn't change it. How do I do that?

Thanks,
Linda

I'm not very tech savvy, but I seem to be able to follow instructions with enough detail.  On another board I belong to, we can easily put photos into posts (no avatars there) directly without using Photobucket or the like -- just upload into posts from photos on our computers.

You can use pictures directly from your computer for your Avatar without going through Photobucket; That's how I did mine!  In fact, I'm going to change mine to a different quilted self-portrait.  Will report back the steps needed.  Pictures in a post seem to be a different matter, though.

I can do avatars here too.  That seems to be standard to all boards.  Pictures within posts are something else.
