Just one book different this month in the UK's choices.

Nothing jumps out at me so I think I'll give it a miss this time - I wasn't exactly bowled over by the one I chose last month.

Yeah . . . I had exactly the same thought! :D I guess it's not 'genre', but maybe not highfalutin' enough to call 'literary fiction'? 8) I read the description and it sounds a bit like one of those books told from two points of view -- one now, and one from the past and, in the end, secrets are revealed. :o

I'm waiting on more reviews on all of 'em . . . nothing jumps out.

I do still check each month, not sure why though.  ;D. Oh look, another women in peril thriller. Well actually two of those if I read the blurbs right.

And yet another historical fiction set around Nazi, WWII. Didn't I comment on that already the last month? Or the one before, I can't recall. Sigh.

Me, going back to my historical mystery, totally not set in nazi/WWII time.

I actually recognize an author this time. I went for the historical fiction because I have read other books by Ella Carey. I liked some and not others so we'll see. Sometimes I don't mind the alternating viewpoints. Sometimes they drive me crazy.

I didn't see anything I was even moderately interested in, so I'll probably do what I've done a time or two before -- get the children's book selection. Might come in handy someday if I have a young visitor. :-)

I'm torn between The Thinnest Air and Takeoff. It doesn't help Thinnest Air's case that there's no way to "look inside" the book - but who knows, they might add that before the end of the month, like they did with the last bunch.

The Things We Don't Say is my dark horse pick.

I'll keep checking back this thread, check out reviews, and decide before the end of the month as always.

Much more intriguing selection this month than last IMO.

Can you download a sample on Kindle First selections?

Huh. I never noticed before that you can't get samples on the Kindle First Books. I did check a couple of the other books and they have Look Inside; not sure why that one doesn't. Though it does seem to be the most popular of the 6 so far, based on the number of reviews. :)

Not a one seems aligned with my tastes this time. I might just have to pass.

I've passed on the offers a lot of months, but if there's a children's book I get that rather than "nothing". Might come in handy some day. :-)

I'm hoping I'll be waiting on grandkids for a good long while, lol. :-)

yeah . . . there's no way I'd get a kids book 'just in case' -- even though the boy is 35. I may pick the one most like horror/dark thriller and get it for my brother who shares my account.

They added a way to "look inside" The Thinnest Air, and the first line immediately turned me off, haha.

I ended up getting Without a Country because it's a change of pace from the type of book I usually get, which probably would have been Takeoff.

No kids myself, but I have occasionally, over the years, had a visitor who was or had a kid; now that I've long since given away my collection of kid's books to younger relatives, I figure a freebie-on-an-iPad might come in handy someday -- some of those kid-visitors are having kids now & may come see me sometime. :-)
