Please get rid of the 'hover to expand' ads.
« on: March 12, 2016, 05:19:36 AM »
I keep getting this extremely annoying pop up happening, which seems to be coming from the bottom banner ad, which I notice has "hover to expand" on it.

I accidentally move the mouse across this stupid thing, and up pops a whole screen of something I dont want to see, and half the time, I cant get rid of it.

Please remove these ads.

If you cant, send a missile to blow up whoever these ads come from. Or at least, verbalize our discontent.

This is a very disruptive and negative thing to have on a forum.

Timothy,

I'm not seeing it, but perhaps because I'm on my iPad.  What's the ad or ads for?

They turn up in among the general ads. Both top and bottom now. Its not a lot of them, but they have the words "hover to expand" on them somewhere.

When you do, they open up a full page screen ad. You have to close it down by clicking the X in the top right corner. Only half of them wont click off.

It's possible the ipad isn't getting them. I only use Windows PC for forum viewing.

Edit: Got one as soon as I posted this. Will post some screen shots in a few minutes.

I'm delighted to say I'm not getting these. Perhaps because I, like Betsy, am using an iPad.

Well, I have ads in that place, but have never gotten the hover effect.  Google ad serves up different things to different people.  I haven't posted in the binge-watching thread lately, could be why I'm not seeing the House of Cards ad... :D

I'll find out if we can refuse ads by ad feature...
