Kindle fire hdx
« on: May 26, 2016, 06:09:32 AM »
Hello..my 1st post!
I have the HDX and my email constantly does not work correctly. It asks me to sign in everyday, sometimes more than once, and when I delete or move an email, it reappears after a few seconds. I had this happen once before, called Amazon and they fixed it. But I had to deregister and it started happening again so thought I would try this forumn..Nobody wants to spend all of their day on the phone with customer service!
Thanks!

It's an AT&T email. I have a gmail account too but it doesn't have any problems!

Hmmmm....

It sounds like you have to check the settings you have set up in your HDX.  It sounds like it's not clearing things on the server.

What am I checking for? I really don't know how to do a lot of that kind of stuff without some direction!

In the Email App, tap on the three menu bars in the upper left hand corner, running into the edge of the screen.

Tap on Settings at the bottom

You should see a list for various settings, then ACCOUNTS.  Under ACCOUNTS you should see the AT&T account you have set up.

Tap on that.

It should have a list of things--Your Name, Description, Default Account.

What you want is under Sync and Data Settings and then under Server Settings.

Tap on Incoming Settings

You'll see boxes for POP3 Server and Password--they should be filled in.

Below those should be "Delete email from server" with a dropdown menu that allows you to choose:
--Never
--When I delete from inbox

It sounds like "Never" is chosen.  You'll want to choose "When I delete from inbox."

Not sure about the password issue...I'll see what I can find out about that.

One option, rather than deregistering and registering, would be to add it again as a new account--and, if successful, delete the old one.

You'll see the option to add an account in Settings, accessed as described above.

To delete an email account you've set up,

Open the “Email” app.
Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
Tap the email account you wish to remove.
Scroll all the way to the bottom and select the option to “Delete Account from Device”, and the account will be deleted.
