I am new to this website. Can someone tell me how to post my editing service on this website?
Thank you,
Nicki

Welcome to KBoards!

You'll want to start a thread in the Writers' Caf.

You're welcome to promote your business and website there.

once you have an official thread there, you'll want to add your listing to our Yellow Pages Listing, found here:
http://www.kboards.com/yp/

The listing is free to KB members and is completely self-service; you can add and edit your listing from the page. More information on our Yellow Pages listing can be found here.

In your thread in the Writers' Cafe, we ask that the same basic rules be followed as we have for authors in the Book Bazaar: you may have the one thread about your service and must post to it rather than start a new thread each time. New threads about the service wil be removed. Please bookmark your thread so that you can find it again to post to. And, you may not make back-to-back posts to the thread within seven days. If someone responds, you may reply but otherwise must wait seven days, thanks!

Note that members may provide civil and honest feedback about your service to your thread, and you may respond in a civil manner. Disputes between you and clients should be handled off site.

Note that once you've created your thread in the Writers' Cafe, we will post a welcome to it with this same info.

Thank you but what do I do to start a new thread?  I clicked on the Writer's Cafe link and am at a loss. Sorry. I am not good at these things.

Sorry, you did it here--it's the same as Start New Topic.  Sorry for the confusion!  Topic=thread!

Now my question is "my forum's thread".  How do I find that?  Sorry for all these questions.

Not a problem.  Let me start from a problem.

If you want to advertise your editing business, you need to start a thread/topic in the Writers' Cafe.  <--click on the link here to go to the Writers' Cafe.

Once in the Writers' Cafe, click on "New Topic" and enter an appropriate subject and then in the post, describe your business.

Save the post.  You've now created your official vendor thread, which we will reply to to welcome it and reiterate the rules I've described earlier.

Once you have that thread, you can copy the URL to it and use that in creating your Yellow Pages entry.  Go to Yellow Pages in the top menu here to do that.

Don't hesitate to ask if you have any more questions!  :D

It can vary, depending on what's going on in real life.  We're all volunteers here.  I'll take a look!
