Barnes & Noble Sales Reporting...Wonkiness?
« on: December 03, 2016, 11:17:08 AM »
Last month I started selling on B&N - and I'm still trying to figure out their sales reporting/dashboard.

On the "Sales" dashboard page in the upper left it's got a box for "Units Sold" and "Royalty" for This Month and Last Month. Below that is a "Recent Sales" summary that shows "Today" and "Yesterday". When I looked at it yesterday, it showed 2 sales with the corresponding royalty under Yesterday - which would have been 12/1 (one each of the two books that follow on after my permafree). I wondered why the top of the page sales box still showed zero under "this month", but figured it was a lag in reporting.

Today I checked it...and there are no sales reported...at all. Now I wish I'd captured a screen shot to show the sales that were listed yesterday. I've downloaded the sales spreadsheet to see if someone bought and returned both books...or something weird. But the spreadsheet is blank. There's no trace anywhere of the two sales...

Does anyone know if things ever disappear/reappear... or how I go about digging around for more information about what happened?

Thanks!

Ah, I just posted on this. All of my Dec 1 sales disappeared as well. I wrote B&N to complain, I would suggest you do the same. They're not supposed to go away like that.

Thanks - I just saw your post. I'll send off an email to B&N now.

Mine disappeared too. I was waiting to see if someone would mention it. I'm off to contact BN.

There's always a delay between the numbers transitioning from the yesterday report to the main sales report. Sometimes they stay gone for half a day. Unless this is something different they'll reappear.

Thanks - that's good to know. It's been more than half a day...but hopefully they'll reappear without any more trouble.

I'm disappeared too. I was waiting to see if someone would mention it. I'm off to contact BN.

That makes at least three of us... fingers crossed that the emails to B&N will get some action!

I'm waiting for my disappeared sale to materialize back on my report.  :(

My Dec 2 sales are now gone.
This is a serious problem.

This is crazy!  ???  >:(

I'm beginning to wonder if there's any digital platform that works as promised!

Just chiming in to give another data point. I am having the same problem, my sales for Dec 1st and 2nd are gone. It's a little worrying, but I have faith it will fix itself. I've had something similar happen before, but they were only gone for a few hours and it was just sales for one day. Hope they fix it soon.

I'm still showing zero for the month - even my permafree shows zero even though the yesterday/today section always shows multiple downloads that disappear rather than translating to the December total.

It's especially concerning because I've only checked my B&N dashboard a few times since I published my books there. I only know about the two sales because they happened to be showing in the "yesterday" category when I logged in - just before they disappeared. I have no way of knowing if more paid sales disappeared since 12/1...
