Why doesn't the Kindle boards embrace the dash?
« on: February 27, 2017, 02:56:15 AM »
For years I couldn't figure out how to create a dash on my PC, and I used a double-hyphen as a substitute. Then one day I went into the character map and learned the command, and ever after I have been proud to use an actual dash in my articles; comments on message boards, and even Facebook posts. I use a dash wherever I type, all except for the Kindle Boards.
For some reason, here a dash appears as a black diamond with a funny symbol inside, so I always have to edit it back to the double-hyphen. Wouldn't it be nice if people here could use a dash?
Be nice to the dash.  :'(

The KBoards forum software has a known problem with non-ASCII characters that unfortunately has resisted resolution to date.  :(
