Let's play: what's your poison?
« on: May 19, 2017, 05:30:40 PM »
Avast, ye lubbers!

If you're super cool like me, and you're spending your Friday evening at home, trying frantically to catch up your wordcounts to meet a deadline, then the least you owe yourself is a good old-fashioned adult beverage.

 8)

Alcoholism is a disease and of course we should all respect anyone's decision to abstain for any reason. So soft drinks, fancy teas and coffees, and ice cream treats are all also allowed ;)

I'll start: tonight I'm pairing my military/action & adventure scifi mailing list magnet with a tall, cold can of Leine's Grapefruit Shandy. Because summer. Cheers, skol, bottoms up!

Whisky - a nice tot of Tullibardine Single Malt.

But tomorrow I'm going to break out a bottle of Pimm's I've been saving for hot weather. ;)

Got an open can of Sprite at the moment.  I'm such a rebel.

Alright, that's fair. But wait, listen: it was a prop! In an opera chorus! True story. Carmen. I had a jug.

The *KBoards* poolboys.  I have no pool.  Though perhaps that's not a requirement for poolboys?  Hmmmm.....

:o

There is indeed heavy quilting machinery:

But I use a regular sewing machine, one like this:

And no, don't drink while operating my machine.  But I don't sew ALL the time....  and drinking while reading KBoards helps sometimes, LOL.

I've got a bottle of cheap Boone's Farm that I'm drinking out of a faded Jimmy Neutron cup while I work on my next book.

Wow, I'm thinking that statement right there just might be the perfect definition of the word "pathetic." Okay, so my new writing goal is to sell enough books to be able to afford a slightly less pathetic wine. And some wine glasses.

Armed with nothing but coffee and a sense of humor.

Would normally be drinking Angel's Envy with Sprite (I'm weird, I know) or Jack and Coke, but alas, currently on an alcohol ban... :(

So instead drinking Arnold Palmers (sweet tea mixed with lemonade).  Chicken Express got me hooked on this stuff, though tonight's is my own brewed sweet tea with Simply Lemonade ;D

A bottle of Dr. Pepper in one hand and a snickers bar in the other.  That way my nose is free to type out words on the keyboard.  Or my toes.

And who says you have to have a pool to have pool boys?  'Scuse me, they're reminding me they prefer to be called pool men.

Water in a plastic bottle with one of those new-fangled slim caps that use less plastic but make the bottles harder to open and close and open again.

Sittin' at the cigar shop with a cigar and bourbon the guy upstairs foisted on me as I was coming back down after buying said cigar. Nothin' says you're welcome here like, "Hey! You forgot your bourbon. It's Friday man, lighten up!"

Well if you insist... Happy Friday all you writerly types.

I keep hearing about these pool boys. Does one need to attain a certain author level to meet them?

That sounds like something that'd be fun to play with the pool men.

Have womanfully ignored the small-batch bourbon on my counter for a glass of viognier from a local winery (in the hopes I might actually get something written).

Side of hemp-oil ointment on my neck. Because computer.
