Do you prefer premade covers with generic text, or covers with filler text? Eg:

Thanks!

Not only do I like some type of real title, but also an author name that doesn't end with "Author":) I love to browse pre-mades, by the way...

Either would work for me personally, but I've heard of some people buying book covers first and write the book second. Having filler text would be more inspiring for that person, even if they're ultimately changing the title.

I don't think it makes any difference as far as choosing one. I love browsing covers that have fake titles on them, because many of them are hilarious.

Here's a question: How much would you be willing to pay for an original design? Yes, I'm a cover designer but I'm also an author and I know what it i to work on an indie self published budget. Having a past in advertising design it was drilled into my head that it takes about 12 milliseconds to decide on visual content - this made me redesign my covers 3 times!

Anyway off topic - there are some really cool premades - but I do prefer "title of book."

LOVE placeholder titles, and I've actually bought two premades and kept the title (with permission of the designer).

I prefer the generic ones. I find the filler titles distracting when I'm trying to decide if it would be right for my book.

I prefer placeholder titles and fake author names. James at goonwrite.com does this very well.:)

Both are fine with me. I love looking at premades.

I'm a pre-made cover site junkie.

I went with other because:

I like the titles filled in. It's good to see what the creator was thinking of when they made it. The direction they intended the image to go in. (or maybe I read too much into the titles).

BUT

I don't like the author name filled in. I find it confusing. "Is this cover for sale? It is an example of their work for the named author? Has this author just bought it?"
Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't.  Just put Jane Doe, or Iam Author or whatever, because then we know it is still for sale!

I love premades!

I prefer filler text, but it's not strictly necessary.
