Believe it or not, a lot of the tips mentioned by Dale Carnegie in How to Win Friends and Influence People are directly applicable to dating.

I've gotten a lot of success with his tip on figuring out a way to mention the name of the person you're talking to

The two books that helped me come to term with why I kept failing at dating. I was looking for the wrong kind of guy for the right reason. I wanted happily ever after, marriage and companionship...but the guys I kept dating were not the kind that would give me those things. So I had to change myself, and my outlook on the world, before I could find the man of my dreams. Which I did.
