A new series by multiple award winning author, M. R. Mathias

After finding a strange medallion and some maps with markings that no one in his village can understand, Braxton Bray decides to take it all to the Hall of Scholars in the kingdom's capital. But greed is everywhere. Braxton and a tough young female caravan guard named Nixy are forced to run for their lives, for someone else wants what Braxton found and is willing to go to great lengths to take it from him.

With a hefty, kingdom wide, bounty on their heads, not even the great wizards of the Sorcerious can help them. Left with nothing but each other, Braxton and Nixy have no choice but to get on a ship and go on an adventure that will take them places they would have otherwise never imagined. Elves, dwarves, giant gothicans, and trolls, treacherous forests on distant shores, love, death, terror, and magic all await...

What is the most comfortable chair for reading?
« on: August 10, 2017, 01:57:40 PM »
I'm buying a new arm chair for my 'library', 'reading room', bedroom I don't use and can't decide on a comfy chair for relaxing with my kindle.  :)

Any suggestions?

ETA: Probably should have put this in Not Quite Kindle but it sort of relates to books.  ;)

La-Z-Boy recliner. You choose the model, but make sure the back is tall enough to rest your head on when fully reclined.

I know they're comfy, I just wish they weren't ugly. ;)

But I may end up going that way for the comfort.

When's the last timeyou checked a Lay-z-boy store . . . they've got a tone of styles and cover options now. Cloth, leather, all colors. Some have a motorized recline and may even have power or usb outlets incorporated.

Not cheap, of course. :)

The simple answer is whatever chair you find most comfortable. The issue is this is very subjective. One person may find one style chair to be exquisitely comfortable while another may find the same to be an instrument of torture.

My personal preference for sitting is to have a chair that rotates back as it reclines the the pressure on my back and legs is equal, but not fully reclined like a Zero-G chair. I should note, this is also my favorite writing position.

It's not the covers that are ugly so much as the clunky shape. I've only glanced online. Maybe I'd see something I like in a store. It's worth loking.

I wasn't going to pipe up here since I'm old and have so many aches and pains I might be considered special needs, but since others have mentioned them...I'm a Lazy Boy fan too. With the foot rest down, I don't think mine is any uglier than any other stuffed upholstered chair. I both read and write in it since for writing I need something with arms and write on a laptop, and always need something that discourages crossing knees.

I read from my sofa, but I used to read from a Lazy-Boy recliner that was pretty comfortable, though sometimes I would lay it out and lean so far back that it fell over backwards when my dog tried to sit by my head.

Sounds like a lot of votes for a Lay-z-boy. I'll have to visit the store and see if I can't find one I like.

While I agree with others here that a Lay-z-boy is a great chair, I tend to move around rather than stay in one place for too long.  Sometimes I stand for awhile reading, other times in the chair.  I have been known to do step exercising while reading.  I think moving around is best rather than staying in one spot for prolonged periods.

This.  I read in bed.
