5 month payment schedule
« on: November 20, 2017, 08:11:28 AM »
I would like to buy the new Oasis 2017.  I saw at the beginning of the release they offered
a five month payment plan.

I do check every day to see if it is an option, but have not seen it since the release date.

Also, check daily to see if it is on sale.

Customer Service told me that the five month payment plan is not an option at this time;
and they were going to be on sale Black Friday, but I realize CS isn't that knowledgeable about ereaders.

Any suggestions?

For me it still shows 5 month payment plan as an option. It did the same when I ordered mine few weeks back. But I paid all at once. I wonder if this is just something that comes and goes, or is for some folks and not for others?

Do you have Prime?  I let mine expire a couple of days ago.

Thank you for your reply.

I do have prime, yes. I never used the payment plan so I can't recall now if that is something they offer to those with prime. I'd just keep an eye on it, especially with black friday coming and of course cyber monday.

I think those offers come and go.  I used one when I bought a Paperwhite for my mom.
I also doubt if the new Oasis will be put on sale for Black Friday.  In the past Amazon has not discounted the newest readers.  But it's all up to Amazon.

I purchased a refurbished Voyage for my mother yesterday.  I was offered a payment plan when I went to check out after putting it in my cart, not on the product page.  I believe I had the same option for the new Oasis when it was released, but I did not complete the order.  I am a Prime member, but I have never used the payment plan option even when it is offered.

I looked at this last week and the impression I got, was that, you have to upgrade to Prime because it's done with a credit card, not a store card?!?

Every time I order an ereader or tablet I'm offered the 5 month payment plan and I always take it. But when I ordered the Echo Spot, I didn't get that option. I am a Prime member.

I'd guess that 5 month payment plan is offered only to Prime members.  I am.  That payment plan currently shows on new Kindle Oasis page.

You do not need to be a Prime member. I am on a payment plan, and I have never had Prime.

It seems to randomly show to people who qualify.
