How to price-match erotica?
« on: December 07, 2017, 11:30:29 AM »
It used to be that the only way to get Amazon to permafree a book was to publish it for free on B&N and ask Amazon to price-match it. But now that B&N takes little or no erotica, that's not possible, and all my permafrees were forcibly un-free-ed.

Is there another way to do it now? Has anyone gotten Amazon to price-match erotica off Smashwords or somewhere else?

Stick it up on ibooks through D2D if it's something they'll take (no PI or dubcon) Amazon actually matches faster to ibooks than anyone. I have several permafrees and they've never failed once to match ibooks.

You might want to consider joining Dirty Discourse. It's like 10 dollars a month and it's where all the bigger names in erotica hang out. That's the best place for advice on erotica, but for sure stick your story on ibooks. It always works for me. I edited to say you can still get erotica on Barnes and Nobles through D2D also. They follow the same rules as Ibooks now. I still make okay money on BN through them.

So is that the deal with BN? No erotica?

I think they technically still allow erotica but they reject the vast majority of it and they blocked most of their publishers awhile back.
