It's a mystery- Something is wrong. As Lance Underphal pads softly across the cold flagstone, he hears her weeping. She is on her knees, hunched over in the middle of the room, her back to him, facing the dark fireplace. Something is very wrong. Lance wants to rush to her, but can't. In a hoarse whisper, he says, "Callie?" She lets out a mournful wail from deep within as she turns, their infant son in her arms, blue and still. He reels from the blow. How can this be? They don't have a son.

"What categories am I in?" workaround.
« on: December 13, 2017, 01:29:14 PM »
Okay, so we all know about yasiv.com, right, the often useful, occasionally inaccurate site that shows also boughts? Well, it also shows your categories. Now that cats seem to have vanished for many of us, I accidentally stumbled on a workaround.

Head on over to http://yasiv.com/

Enter your ASIN at the top and choose Kindle Store from the drop down.

When your book pops up, click on it.

To the right, a big picture of your cover will appear.

Scroll down a little and--voila!--you'll see your categories inside neat little dotted rectangles.

I hope someone finds this useful! :)

Extremely useful! Thank you! I've been wondering if I was in a subcategory and now I know. I've seen the dotted rectangle and it never occurred to me it was showing actual categories. Duh.

What does it mean if you enter your ASIN and get nothing? I've tried a couple of books and it just says 0 books.

It's having issues. Keep pressing enter over and over until it does.

Yes, this. I had to do the same thing. Eventually it pops up.

You're welcome!

The penny didn't drop for me until today either! All this time I've been using it ... *Facepalm*

Thanks for this. Now I know that my books are subcat in "Organized Crime." I write ghost stories, not mob stories. :(

That is potentially so useful. Thanks a lot!

And clicking on the categories that appear takes me to places I have never been before.  Not sure what to make of what I see there, but there is a lot of it.

Nice. Thanks.

Anyone know what the arrows in the diagram mean? Browsing paths? Also boughts?

Also boughts. If a book is pointing to yours, you're in its also boughts. It's not foolproof but it gives you an idea.
