It's a mystery- Something is wrong. As Lance Underphal pads softly across the cold flagstone, he hears her weeping. She is on her knees, hunched over in the middle of the room, her back to him, facing the dark fireplace. Something is very wrong. Lance wants to rush to her, but can't. In a hoarse whisper, he says, "Callie?" She lets out a mournful wail from deep within as she turns, their infant son in her arms, blue and still. He reels from the blow. How can this be? They don't have a son.

Ended at 7500 for today. I'm behind for my weekly goals, but I should be able to catch up. Kids are busy elsewhere, LOL.

This is aimed at myself mostly, but I just want to say, WRITE! Looking back last year, I can clearly see all of the time I could have been writing but I wasn't. I kept coming up with excuses. Now, I have a second job and I have fewer hours to write and I regret not using my time more wisely. Fortunately, I'll only have to work 2 jobs for a short while, but it really has put things in perspective for me. Offering encouragement and holding ourselves accountable in the New Year!

767. Far below my target but I started late at night and normally I wouldn't have bothered, but I wanted to at least get something down. So I'm happy that I have more words than I did yesterday and that my streak is now a whole two days.

Onto my fourth thousand-plus-word day this year. Though the book is actually shrinking as I deleted a bunch of scenes I realized I didn't need. Most of them will end up going into the sequel(s).

2067 words today

I'm writing in the evenings just before I go to bed and it's not really working for me: I'm too tired and brain dead and I'm going too slow and therefore getting bored with my story. I'm going to give morning writing a try, although it's going to be difficult as I'm not a morning person and it will probably take me a while to transition. In any case, I'm determined to keep to writing every day this year.

May I join please? I have to pull my self together and finish what I have already started. 6000 words to catch up since the 1st of Jan, starting right now:)

Have been thinking about joining this group for a while, I need a good kick in my behind to write more regularly.

Love this forum!

I'm in. I'll post my final count for the day this evening, but already over 1k.

ETA: All done for the day. Wound up with 2,240 words. Pretty pleased!
