Science Fiction/Fantasy Cover Illustrator
« on: April 29, 2018, 05:55:47 PM »
I would like to introduce my services as a cover artist, specialising in science fiction, fantasy and speculative fiction plus associated genres.

I provide a personal, bespoke artwork service. All of my artwork is hand rendered using a graphics tablet, and will be unique to your book. The cover art is the first thing anybody will see of your book, so it is crucial to get it right, and that's what I'm here to do. As an avid reader and advocate of books, I'm passionate about the genre(s) and also who I work with, believing in fruitful and creative, two-way collaboration.

With over 20 years' experience as a professional graphic designer, I bring a degree of expertise and advice to any project, and I'm really keen to meet and work with new, likeminded folk.

Here is a selection of recently completed projects:

You can see more of my work on my website http://www.thelightdream.net

Any questions?  :)

Nice work :)  I realize you do bespoke work, but a price range would be very useful to have when writers are shopping around for potential cover artists.

I've been looking around for a sci-fi horror cover artist recently. Do you do mixed genres like that? And C. Gold is right, I'm gonna need a price range to gauge risk-reward. Thanks :)

Thanks. I prefer to discuss pricing as part of any enquiries by alex@thelightdream.net. I don't have a fixed fee as such; it really depends on the requirements, etc, plus your budget. I'll always aim to be flexible.

I should also mention that I'm based in the UK, though not that it makes much difference these days :)

I am to publish on Kindle pretty soon as the book is basically ready, then later in print version. It is my second book.
I am looking for a design for both Kindle and printed version, to be provided at the same time.
The book is a pretty large collection of Anglo-Saxon jokes.

I can give the title; the table of content gives in itself a pretty good idea of the content.
I have some ideas about the cover, obviously subject to discussion and suggestions. I am thinking of a (color) drawing, showing a bar that can be easily identified as "Irish", etc. (details later)
I want this done pretty soon.
Please reply here and/or bjprc@me.com
Thanks
