I am 1/3 of the way through and it is great!  I think I am really going to like this series.  Seems like it will be a quick read so hopefully I will catch up to the book klub (if I can stay off these boards!).

lol, good luck with that.  You'll probably end up tearing through them, pacing furiously waiting for May to get here (when the new book comes out).  Glad you're enjoying them!

I sure hope I like them. I went ordered the first 7 on my Kindle2. The only other vampire books I have read were the Twilight series and I really like those.

Let me say that I do not like blood and guts type of stuff.  I was very hesitant to start reading vampire stuff.  The first vampire books that I read were the Twilight Series. I liked those so I decided I would try this.  Now I am hooked on Sookie!  I am starting book 6 in a few minutes.  I just can't put them down.  I just have to see what is going to happen to her next.

I am half way through book 4 of the series. Even though I am enjoying the series, i find that I need a break between books and read something else.  i guess it's going to take me awhile to get through them..LOL

Lucky you. Dead as a Doornail is book 5 and book 9 is the one that just came out this month, so you have four more to go! Lucky!

I am retired so I can read all day if I wish. I just finished #5 and just purchased #9. $5 was not that exciting as far as the others in comparison in my opinion but ....on to #6. Oh, what shall I do when I finish them all?????

I just started reading Dead Until Dark yesterday.  I'm just partway through chapter 2, but it seems like an entertaining read so far.  I've always loved vampire stories, so any other series/books you can recommend is always appreciated.

Haven't yet read the books although I downloaded to Kindle, but was given the first season of TRUE BLODD to watch.  Based on just the first episode, I think the show is just okay.

I'm hoping it gets more intriguing.

PLEASE tell me it gets more intriguing!

Most definitely!  Lots of deviations from the books, but I like that - I can read the books and watch the series and not know what will happen (for the most part).

Well, I watched two more episodes of TRUE BLOOD -- and it got a LOT better!  I really like the show.

As soon as I finish the TWILIGHT series, I'm going to read the Sookie Stackhouse novels.

I just purchased the Kindle 8 box set, at around $24, so that's about $3 a book. I couldn't resist that price. I read a little of the sample. I just hope I like the series, since so many others seem to enjoy these books. I had just started reading the Twilight Saga Book 1, & I am enjoying that book.  ;D

I love vampire novels. Love them, but I hadn't started reading Harris' book until I started watching True Blood, even though I've had the books here for YEARS. They were lost in one of my massive cases. Out of sight, out of mind. I'm catching up, though.  :P

I have just read the first book and I really enjoyed it.  I read the Twilight series and while I enjoyed them enough to get through them all I didn't see the huge big deal.  Especially on such a large scale.  I get the teens being all gaa gaa, since it's written for teens, but can't see the lure for anyone over 20.

(sorry if anyone reading this is in the older group of Twilight worshippers, I will refrain from further discussion as I do have very strong opinions on this series and the movies and I don't want to cause an argument)

I look forward to reading the rest of the series!
