Behind the first img tag, you add width=200 (200 being an arbitrary number, change it to whatever is best). I will update your images for you.

It worked for me:

I believe she meant the Kindle version, which  - of course - Link Maker 2.0 cannot find. I PMd her instructions on how to use Link Maker 1.0 for her book.

Within the brackets? I can't seem to get this to work. Hmmm.

In searching the generator using terms like my book title and last name or even my name, and selecting Kindle Store, neither of my Kindles appear. It shows no results. If I search Books, my paperbacks show up.

On Amazon, searching Kindle store shows my books.

I'm not sure what's up here.

Please disregard my last post. I found the area where I should be able to get my Kindle links.

Cheers!

Apparently I'm not the only one still having trouble with the links. Even after I was told how to do it, they sometimes work and sometimes don't. I think the forum ought to see about setting up an easier way to make a link. Don't you?

The issue is with Amazon. They have made it very difficult to link to Kindle books for some unknown reason.

I have made links to hundreds of books for KB and I think there was only one that did not work. The system was set up to allow readers to tell other members about a book they were reading or suggest to be read, not just for authors to promote their work.

A while back, Amazon turned off the ability for its web services to be used to access books in the Kindle Store; that's why Kindle books do not show up in our Link Maker tool. (We have an alternative, which is to use the "old" Link Maker, which is more of a manual process, to make Kindle book cover links.)

I'm hoping the Kindle Store web services will become available in the future, which will make creating clickable book covers for books in the Kindle store a lot easier!!

Hi Harvey

Neither the automatic or manuel link will work for several of my books. Loving Large--Yours, Only And Always, Hunter's Passion, And Any Time, Any Place, don't come up on a search for my author name (Marilyn Lee).

Do you have any suggestions for correcting this?

Thanks.

To build an image link manually start with the link to Amazon:

Code: [Select]
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/
To that, add the ASIN after the last slash; then add "?ie=UTF8&tag=kbpst-20" without the quotes and without any additional slashes.

Add an open hyperlink tag at the front:

Code: [Select]
[url=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003OICB20?ie=UTF8&tag=kbpst-20]
Append the path to your book image enclosed in image tags and close the hyperlink tag.

Code: [Select]
[url=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003OICB20?ie=UTF8&tag=kbpst-20][img]http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51B8q3iTX7L._SL500_AA266_PIkin2,BottomRight,-16,34_AA300_SH20_OU01_.jpg[/img][/url]

Jeff is the hyperlink master. . .;D

But, if it's to be a signature link, it needs to be smaller. . .  We recommend the maximum height to be 150 pixels so as not to overwhelm those with smaller monitors.

Ah, yes. Sorry.

To limit the height to 100 pixels include height =100 after the image start tag:

Code: [Select]
[url=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003OICB20?ie=UTF8&tag=kbpst-20][img height=100]http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51B8q3iTX7L._SL500_AA266_PIkin2,BottomRight,-16,34_AA300_SH20_OU01_.jpg[/img][/url]

I've tried the link maker many times and it will only pull up link info to my paperback books?  The other one is clunky and doesn't work very well.  Why won't this link maker pull up the link to my Kindle version?
thanks,
Paul Clayton
