Writers' Cafe / Re: My first Bookbub (international only)

Don't forget sellthrough. Their figures only account for number of sales of the advertised book, not sales of other titles by the same author which occur thanks to the extra publicity.

Personally I wouldn't do a bookbub unless it was first in a series, and I'd want to be sure of my sell-through figures on the way in.

For example, for every 25-30 downloads of my freebie, I sell one copy of book 2 at 2.99, or one copy of the boxed set of books 1-3, also 2.99.

Then there's a sellthrough to books 3-8 in the series which are all priced at 4.99. (Or the second boxed set of books 4-6, at 7.99, and then books 7 and 8 at 4.99 each.)

Bookbub can't factor all of that into their figures.

Simon,

If you take a look at my second post in this thread you can see I've kept track of the sell through (this is a .99 international only bookbub).

I'm getting a couple sell-through per day on average and even today sold three copies of later books!

The tail seems like it will keep bringing in cash for a bit longer.

But nothing is gauranteed. If you get a bookbub you take it. If your book doesn't hit with bookbub there are likely issues on the author end not the advertiser.

My affiliate page is down too.

"Error occurred while loading last 30 days data. Please try after some time. "

"Error occurred while loading summary data. Please try after sometime. "

When using the earnings tab. It goes to an endless loop.

Exactly this. I wonder if it's a browser thing.

Since all of Amazon is run by bots, I very highly doubt it and I'd place that firmly in the "baseless rumour" category.

That said, it might not be worth the aggravation through stupid bot-generated emails. Personally, I'd just wait.

Lol, maybe that's why they blackmark (if they do.) They get irritated when the bots can't do it and have to flag down a real person. Said real person then marks the account as a troublemaker.  :P

Is there any comeback to asking for a book to be removed from Select?

Long story cut short: I added one book in my series two weeks later than the rest. (oversight)  Now the others are wide but the first is locked up for another week. I don't mind emailing them, but I don't want a black mark against my name.

I mean, it's only a week, so I'm minded to just leave it to drop off by itself.

Just to clarify - I access my affiliates account using the grey bar across the top of every amazon US page. (SiteStripe).  I just click Earnings over on the right.

I always rewrite to avoid double words. Correct or not, in my opinion they don't flow well.

Hmmmm... Mine is down, too. I haven't checked my earnings for at least a few days, so I'm not sure how long it's been down.

Amazon sure seems to be busy lately.
