The first blurb:

An ancient family was torn apart by a war that crossed into the earthly realm. The past reaches into the future as seemingly unrelated events unfold. A world famous research scientist is forced into hiding with her family and others in a remote part of Alaska. A quarry manager in Northern California finds a mysterious artifact that alters his world. A spoiled heiress in Manhattan forces an entire restaurant to perform on her reality TV show. A common thread is pulling all of these people into the coming holocaust, forcing them to choose ignorance, or embrace change and live. Before they face the apocalypse, they must learn to trust those around them and recognize that the world they thought they knew is not safe now.

The second blurb:

Does anyone have any opinions on which is better?
