Here's the top ten unconfirmed.

    Hannahlei Cabanilla – 19 – Contemporary – VIDEO
Jensen Arnold 20 – Latin Ballroom –VIDEO
    Genessy Castillo – 18 – Contemporary – VIDEO
    Evan Debenedetto – 19 – Tap – VIDEO
    Magdalena Fialek – 27 – Latin Ballroom – VIDEO
    Jay Jay Dixonbey – 20 – Jazz – VIDEO
    Darius Hickman – 19 – Contemporary – VIDEO
    Chelsea Hough – 24- Jazz – VIDEO
Slavik Pustovoytov – 19 – Hip Hop (Not feat at all in auditions. Pretty sure he’s this guy)
    Cole Mills – 24 – Latin Ballroom – VIDEO

The season won't be shorter if they only eliminate one each week. I don't think the fans (namely us) would tolerate a five week season.

The BB people will look at it and decide what category they think it should go in as well. If they don't think it would do well in a category, they won't run it in that category. I have a novel I've been consistently suggesting for one category and having them tell me had to go in another for two years. 🤣

Did their suggestion work out?

I remember now. It was Chelsea.

I absolutely loved what Mandy Moore did. She is definitely not my favorite choreographer, but the whole idea of the group and then the individual styles was great. So much better than that all-nighter they used to pull with different groups doing their own choreo.

So, what's with only ten moving on? I guess this is the part where the ten all-stars get to pick who they will work with. Darius and JayJay seem to be the strongest male dancers. And I love Amy and there's another girl whose name I can't remember.

Shaping up to be an exciting season.

Amazon has a rather great feature whereby I get to ask questions of people who have purchased the item before. I see a lot of responses like the one mentioned: "I don't know; I haven't tried it yet," and so on and so forth.

It's rather touching, really, that there are people who believe that there's a little woman hidden inside that Alexa box.

There isn't?  :o

I don't respond to review requests, mostly, but I feel guilty if I don't respond to customer questions.

Interesting read. Thanks for sharing -- Ads shockingly expensive, have a deep backlist, a long series, avoid standalones...Got it.

I just applied for my BB Author Profile today. Curious where this rabbit hole leads...

As I understand it, also best to have full-length novels.

Now that I'm going wide, I intend to start applying again.

Fire Talk / Re: So many Fire 10 problems
« on: Yesterday at 08:49:26 AM »
I just had to return my Fire 10 because it kept dropping my modem or saying it was not in range. The problem started a couple a months ago when I was getting no wi-fi connection messages. When I powered down and restarted, wi-fi worked fine. Then it didn't work at all.

Called CS and they had me go through the same steps I'd done half a dozen times before. Then they sent me to the tech guy who would know how to fix it. He took a couple of minutes to read the earlier transcript which he obviously didn't do, and then told me to do the same steps over again. I refused. Said I'd already done them on my own and then twice for the CS person.

They had me send it back, it went to repair and they couldn't do anything with it. I now have a new Fire 10. Hope I don't have the same problem.

Call CS. Maybe they'll have a solution or maybe you'll have to return it for repair or replacement.

Writers' Cafe / Re: Changes to ACX Bounty Program

I'm not sure that's actually what that wording says. I read it as the one whose link is used gets $50 and the other partner gets $25. Here's the actual wording: "If you produced your audiobook under our Royalty Share terms, you’ll earn $50 each time your referral link is used to make the first purchase by a new Audible member, and your Royalty Share collaborator will receive $25." That "Royalty Share collaborator" part is what makes me think it goes either way.

Wouldn't that mean that the producers are also going to get referral codes?

I just read a blog post about this. For Royalty Share produced audios, the rights holder will get $50 and the narrator $25.

I love how they start off with "We want to reward you for your work." Who do we think this change is going to benefit? ACX/Amazon or the author? I was just starting to get some bounties and now this change will make it harder.

I can't even get on with my laptop. As soon as I enter one capcha, it feeds me another one, and another one, and I never actually get to a page.

Maybe it wasn't me getting it wrong? Maybe it just wasn't working right? I did eventually get through after several tries and I haven't gotten it since on any of my tablets or my laptop.

12
It happened to me day before yesterday but only one time and only on my tablet. I had an awful time getting it right.

<off topic>

Atunah, here's a good, albeit short series. Set just after WWII so maybe much newer than you like. But I enjoyed it.

That's the first one; bad news is there are only 3 as the author died. :( Her son actually finished the 3rd one.

Just finished the trilogy. Excellent so thanks for the recce. So sad for her son. But she does have other series so I shall try them.

Never give anything away, away, away
That you can sell.
Ev'ry night, ev'ry day,
Try to remember, ma belle,
Never give anything away, away, away
That you can sell.

But if you can't sell
Then you can tell
The World this book
Is free today!!

Already did all that except for updating Flash player. And the fact that it's only the one page on ACX that's not working tells me it's a problem at their end.

I still have heard nothing from them. I'll update flash player just to make sure, then copy their response and send that back to them.

ETA: Reinstalled Flash Player, closed my browser and still nothing. I'll go ahead and contact them again. Since they don't send out paper copies anymore, they have to give us online access to our earnings reports.

I can't see earnings report too. What happen?

They forgot that, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

I still haven't heard back from them and now it's the weekend. Good thing it's not time for the monthly report yet.

I received a message back from them today telling me to clear cache/cookies and try a different browser. They said if that didn't work, send them a screenshot of what happened. It didn't work (clicking on Earnings Report doesn't take me anywhere), so screenshot was sent.

I had already cleared cache/cookies and tried a different browser before I emailed them. That did get me into ACX but the earnings report did not show up when I clicked the tab.

I can click the Earnings Report, at the right of Sales Dashboard, but there is no data on the page that is displayed.
I emailed them as well.

Haven't heard back yet.

Project Runway All Stars, Season 2. I just finished Season 16. They cut us off towards the end of that season if we didn't have cable and have recently opened it up on Hulu. Now I'll binge back as far as Hulu will let me.

Your daughter is very discerning.  :D

I was going to say the same thing about letting some dancers slide. I'm guessing they must have had extraordinary solos or maybe the choreographer/judge said they did much better during rehearsal.

I agree about Jay. It was so good to see him in his male persona and show that he's not just a gimmick. He was actually very good. Knowing Nigel, that was a very big concession from him.

For a chilling moment, I thought they were going to let Darius go. He is so amazing.

Yeah, the few books where I've updated covers they've never updated on the ACX site.

For sales, right under where it says your number of units sold it should have a link for "View Sales Dashboard". This used to open in a new tab for me in Firefox but now just moves to a new screen.

I can see the sales dashboard but not the earnings report. I emailed them yesterday.

Seems like it works differently for everyone.

Check to make sure the right covers are on Audible. I noticed a while ago that ACX had the original covers for my books but Audible had the updated covers.
