Fire Talk / Please help! I'm panicing
« on: March 20, 2012, 01:54:28 PM »
Ok, so I've done something stupid!

Woke up this morning and decided to root my phone and install a custom ROM. Used Kindle Fire Utility and rooted it just fine. Installed the custom ROM and now it's stick at the yellow triangle and refuses to budge. My computer no longer sees it and a kindle or unknown device. Power button will shut if off but is otherwise useless.

Can anything be done to restore it? Please help

I have organized my over 950 book library by putting them in collections by series!

I'm not a "horder", it's called having a library;D

My "library" has over 950 books in it.  Is that too many? LOL

I use a Verson rechargable booklight.  It doesn't clip to the oberon cover but to the kindle itself.  I have one that I used for my K3 and now use for my KT.  They are a bit on the pricey side at about $35-$40, but like I said it's rechargable so you'll actually be saving money in the long run.

I love your Cozycushions!  How much are they?  I would love one in tiffany blue and brown damask or pink and brown damask.  Also maybe one for my iphone?

I ordered a Kindle touch with SO. That's why I was asking. Thanks

Thanks so much! I really appreciate the time you guys took to answer my questions!

Someone needs to write detailed instructions and post them!

So I have to load all my books on the Kindle then import the collection. His do I do that?

Let me ask another question. If I purchase the kindle with SO, is it possible to later pay Amazon to take them off?

Crap on toast! I just bought the new Kimdle Touch and I was afraid I was going to spend forever and a week reorganizing my collections. *sigh*

would this be possible with a hack? I'm just curious.

I have a possible silly question.

I have purchased the KT and I have pages upon pages of collections on my current K3.  When I transfer everything over to the KT will my collections transfer as well or am I going to have to recreate all those collections?  Please help

Nope! Not linked to her account at all.  She will NOT be notified if you regift it.

Happy Gifting!!

Do you still have this?

I do not want nor need a Kindle tablet.  The idea of a touchscreen K4 is interesting and I might be interested.  But seeing as my k3 isn't even a year old yet, I can't justify shelling out even more $ for the new one.  I don't want to surf the web on my kindle, I don't want to check the weather or my stock options. I just want to read.

Now days, with my phone having internet, as well as my desktop and my laptop, why would I need/want a tablet?  My kindle is the only uni-functional device I have and I love it. I love the simplicity of it. I don't need a book to do a 101 different things.  With everything going high tech, lets keep our "books" simple...shall we?

Ok I did just that...waiting for Alice to come back up.  Hope it worked!

I installed the screensaver hack on my kindle almost a year ago. My question do I delete the existing custom screensavers and install new ones?  All my customs are kind of hodge-podge and I would love to go with a common theme, IF I can get the old ones off.

Thank you every one for your help

I love the froggy

I have a 7 year old and a 4 year old.  Both know better than to touch my kindle or even the oberon it's in unless asked to bring it to me or put it in my purse. Heck, Hubby won't even touch it unless asked to. LOL I'm a little over protective. I usually leave it on my bedside table, coffee table or in my purse.
