Publish ebooks first, then work on createspace. They link up automatically going this route, so I have no problems.

Marla, I just want to thank you, like many others have, for the valuable information you've provided us. It's been wonderful to read of your successes over the previous year. Good luck with making the Bestseller list this year. I'm cheering for you.

Would love to participate in something like this, especially to promote an upcoming series.

Tax laws in the US are complicated. Usually, in order to split profits in an evenly manner, a partnership needs to be set up, with all the authors listed as partners, thereby the money and expenses flow equally to the taxpayers, and they will pay their percentage of taxes on their personal income taxes. When you add in foreign authors, it gets a little more complicated...the US has tax treaties set up with certain countries, but there are filing requirements to tend to. The US requires 30% of profits to be withheld and paid directly to the IRS before any money is sent out to foreign earners.

Also, different states require different filing matters (such as filing a fictitious name in Florida, some states have state taxes to deal with, too, etc.)

I choose most of them after writing the book; however, I have picked some up that feature the same model in the series. I'm still trying to learn the whole cover making process. Photoshop isn't the easiest program to figure out.

Hi all! I'm going through and liking everyone. Thank you!

Thank you for your input. I've tried to search the forums for answers. I think a flat fee would be the way to attract them, especially since my books are fairly new.

I'm hoping someone else has experience with and can help me out a little. I'm looking for a narrator, and notice there are different ways of paying them. My stories are short, so it wouldn't take long to narrate the stories. How do I attract the narrators to me? What is the best way to pay them for the narration? % of sales, or flat fee?

Thank you in advance for your input and help.

Jackcrows, I'm having the same problem, and sent a request to them. I haven't heard back from them, yet. If you happen to resolve this problem, would you kindly clue me in?

I've heard that it's best to set your price at 33% above the amazon price. It would be nice if the price war would cease.

Hello all!

I'm an author living in Florida, and very new to the kindle boards. It's a bit overwhelming. I own a kindle, and enjoy reading many different genres, but I'm a big fan of paranormal, horror, and fantasy books. I hope to learn a lot from the kindle boards, along with meeting other people who enjoy reading as much as I.
