Writers' Cafe / new book question
« on: June 03, 2018, 12:35:57 PM »
I just published my fifth book in a mystery series. Do most promotional sites have a minimum for reviews before they'll accept it? I've promoted the first four, but I can't remember if I had to wait.

You guys are great-all very helpful. One thing I forgot to mention is that this is the fifth in a series of Tony Crow mysteries, so is it still necessary to fill in about his past (Age, experience, etc.)

The people in this group have always been very helpful- now I need it with my new blurb!

When a client asks Private Detective Tony Crow to investigate her husband’s mysterious death, which the coroner has ruled a suicide, Tony doesn’t expect he’ll have much luck. His new client might just be a grieving widow who’s trying to justify a feeling of responsibility by not seeing her husband’s signs of despair and attempting to stop it. After all, the police did an investigation, and the coroner’s findings are clear. But the deeper Tony digs—uncovering an investment-loan scam, interviewing smarmy business associates of the deceased, and dodging shady characters who seem intent on following Tony’s every move—the more he thinks his client’s suspicions might be grounded in facts.
He discovers a connection between several murders and his client’s business partner, which leads him to believe he’s about to solve this complicated case, but things are never exactly what they seem, and he must use every weapon in his arsenal to bring an insane serial killer to justice.

Writers' Cafe / Advertising your books in other countries.

I recently had a international Bookbub on my first book and I've been very pleased by the results in Australia. Does anyone know of other ways (besides Bookbub) to advertise my book there?

I had a, Amazon only, international on the 8th of October. 346 sales with Australia getting more than half of that. My book is a private detective mystery and for a short while, it was the #1 best seller in that genre. The big improvement I've seen is that for the first time, I'll get over 100,000 pages read on unlimited. 40-50 is my norm/

Thanks, I agree. It was a silly idea, but I was surprised to see the best selling sticker from Amazon sticker this morning,

Because of a recent Bookbub international promotion, my book, "Flight of the Crow" is the #1 bestselling private detective mystery in Australia. Can I use that in my future advertising and do I have to say "In Australia?"

If I get a book bub international promotion, do I lower the price to .99 in the United states of do I have to lower it in each of the other countries?

I thought something similar. Any way, I'll post how it goes on Sunday. (fingers crossed)

My book is amazon only as far as sales go, so it will be interesting how much that effects my sales. I've heard that Kobo is big in Canada. One observation that I think is odd. My book was accepted on Aug 24 for the International promotion. Before that time I had very few sales and pages read in Canada. Since then, I've been getting sales and pages read almost every day. Anyone have an idea why?

What kind of results can I expect for a Bookbub promo, but only in the UK, Canada, Australia and India?

They won't show up until something mysteries happens in your neighborhood, and it just so happens to match up with what you were searching on.

I know that a review marked "Verified purchase" mean the reviewers bought the book from Amazon, but what does it say if the reviewer read the book through Kindle unlimited or the lending library?

I know this has probably been covered before, but I can't find the answer in the archives. I just released a new book; "Instincts of the Crow" and it seems like most of the larger promotion sites want a minimum number of reviews. Does anyone have a list that will promote just published books with zero reviews?

I recently uploaded new covers for my three books and they show up on Amazon, but on my sig line on Kboards, its still the old covers. How can I change that?

When I published my third book, I got out of the red, although my wife does my covers and I do the formatting. My only expenses are editing and promotions. My fourth book should be out this weekend, so I hope it continues.
