Up a tad from last month.

« on: February 01, 2016, 11:42:07 AM »
Did anyone else have their KENPC page counts drop by 20% or more on every book in their account? Mine are all down by that much. One that was 735 is now 579. No changes to the book at all.

At least on my reports, both the Month To Date and the Sales Graph for December for my US and UK KENP match, and that number is substantially higher than what was just received in the December report.

Check your reports. My pages read are off by over 20% from the Month To Date chart for December. And by off I mean lower.

$1.80 per borrow for KU/KOLL

Maybe they are lowering the royalty rate to fund more stipend productions. That would fit with their language about accommodating more audio productions. Hey, I'm not betting on it, just wondering.

Writers' Cafe / Re: Dragon software question....

Having tried most Dragon Naturally Speaking products over the years, I can say that what I use now, version 12 Home, works stunningly well with only minimal training. I started to try this way of writing again simply to change things up between the different formats in which I write -- novels and screenplays -- and using DNS with Word 2013 has been a very pleasant surprise. I can easily put 2000 words an hour onto the page. Invariably there will be some errors, but I've found them to be minor, and easily caught during a read-through for editing purposes.

It doesn't appear to allow Tax ID editing, just like Pubit.

Just FYI, on my account it reset the Corporate/Tax Reporting Address to my home mailing address. So, if you have a different address, it might be worth checking.

Maybe I'm dense, but this sounds...idiotic.

"NOTE: Currently, once a Project is On Sale as a NOOK Book, a replacement manuscript file cannot be uploaded and changes cannot be made to the Manuscript in the Manuscript Editor, even if the Project is Off Sale. To make changes to a Manuscript that you have already put on sale, you will need to download the ePub file, create a new Project, and upload it as a Manuscript File. You will also need to provide your NOOK Book Details again in the new Project."

Anytime you want to make a change, you create a new project? What happens to the old one?

Writers' Cafe / Re: Big News from PubIt! ? Anyone know what it is?

I'm hoping it's an announcement that they are going to answer the e-mails I sent them three months ago. And six months ago. And nine months ago.

Barnes and Noble sells books? The first 40 feet of the one near me appears to offer only puzzles, toys, candy assortments, and Nook tablets.

Writers' Cafe / Re: KDP owns up to not paying me enough for Oct
« on: December 19, 2012, 06:36:43 PM »
FYI

"Hello,

KOLL payments for October were delayed, causing them not to be paid out with regular October KDP royalties. We've now finished processing them and in most cases will send an additional payment separately by the end of this month.

We'll issue these as separate payments for all publishers who are currently being paid via EFT, or for anyone paid by check whose KOLL payment is more than $50/50/50. For publishers paid by check whose KOLL payment for October is smaller, we'll be happy to issue a separate payment upon your request if you contact KDP Support; otherwise, it'll be included in your next royalty payment.

We're very sorry for the inconvenience and have taken steps to ensure this won't happen again in the future. Thanks for your understanding.

Regards,
Kindle Direct Publishing Team"

If you add up your KOLL money it will likely be the missing amount to the penny. Mine was.

It appears on mine that they left off the KOLL money. Obvious glitch.

I'm disappointed there's no 'Canadian' under the language choices at the top of the KDP dashboard.

Kind and gentle soul, you will be missed.

Ann, thanks. What's weird is that when I try to redownload that it says I already have it and to look in the library. But, alas, it's not there. It's minor in the scheme of things, but annoying. Still a great device.
