SUNDAY SAUCE -  When Italian-Americans Cook

SUNDAY SAUCE  by Daniel Bellino-Zwicke

"Come here kid, lem-me show you something. You never know when you're gonna have to cook for 20 guys some day. "Pete Clemenza says to Michael Corleone (Al Pacino) in Francis Ford Coppola"s The Godfather. it's one of the most famed movie scenes in history and of great importance to Italian-Americans. Is KU Bad for Authors? Well for some yes and others no. I'm in the 1st group. It seems very bad for me. My book SUNDAY SAUCE - When Italian Americans Cook was doing quite well for a 3 month period, averaging 750 Kindle Sales a month at .99 Cents .. I had previously had it priced at $3.49, but when I priced it down to 99 cents, sales took off .. I was really happy selling the book at 99 Cents with those kind of Sales, getting .35 Cents a book times 750 = $262, plus $100 for 50 borrows, and about $75 on Paprback sales for an average of about $425 a month .. Not a lot, but I was happy with that and with the prospect of a new book coming out soon and if I could get a couple of my other titles in the Top 20 Best Seller List of their categories.

I, I almost forgot to mention, I was # 1 Best Seller Italian Cookbooks for almost 7 weeks and at # 2 or # 3 a few other weeks. Things were going good. Going good until that dam Kindle Unlimited came along and drove my sales down drastically. I mean big time. From about 33 copies a day, to just 2-4 .. Horrible. ANd its all because of KU .. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get the sales up again. I've read from a number of people that not many KU Subscribers would get books all that much that are at 99 cents. It's not a good value for them and they're more apt to get something that cost more as they get it for free (well not for free but $9.99) .. So, hearing all this and it made sense, I raised the price of my Kindle Edition of SUNDAY SAUCE from 99 Cents to $9.99  and I'm waiting to see what happens. Today I made 2 sales and 2 borrows, so my royalties for today are going to be about $14  ... $14 X 30 days comes to $420 .. My sales before were $426 a month .. Well I don't know if I'll be doing $14 in sales every day, so I have to wait and see  ... And time will tell.
