No problem--you had clickable links, that worked well, thought it was what you were trying to do.  I'll check on the post and see what it looks like "behind the scenes."

And no problem if you want to vote on your own.

My 'other' book suggestion is A Game Of Thrones by George RR Martin.

Its a good epic Fantasy Series.

    Besty -

Regarding the voting -- is there going to be a deadline?  I can vote now (I'm ready) but I'm afraid too because there may be more choices coming down the road.

If I vote now, is that it for my votes?  Say I vote now, and more choices are added & I want to change my votes I'd be able to do that?

I understand you can change your vote.  Just not sure if that means right-as-you-make-your-choice or anytime.

    Thanks for the help,

    Marci

You can keep going back as we add choices and change your vote.  I've done mine several times as new books are added...

I'm going to keep it open long term.  As we decide on books as definites, they'll be removed from the voting and others added.  I don't think I'm going to add many more at this point until we take some off.

    Thanks for participating!

I like the idea of one of the in Death books.  Starting with the first would be great.  I would like to see something along the Beth Moore/Max Lucado type of books.

I'll just mention that the Song of Ice and Fire books are looooooong reads--perhaps too long to fit into the proposed book club format and schedules.  The first book is the shortest at 800 pages.  The others all run 1000 pages.

They also contain graphic language, sex and incest which some members may find objectionable.

At first Ford had formed a theory to account for this strange behavior. If human beings don't keep exercising their lips, he thought, their mouths probably seize up.
After a few months' consideration and observation he abandoned this theory in favor of a new one. If they don't keep on exercising their lips, he thought, their brains start working.

hmmm, they must have been fast reads because I don't remember them taking very long. Also Outlander is 896 pages and has some of the stuff you mentioned above plus some other stuff not mentioned and we are doing a book club for that series :-X :o ;D.  So I don't see how this would be too long and no one is required to sign up if they don't want to read it ;).

Theresa:  I wasn't speaking bad about the books.  I'll be jumping into the fourth of the series in the next couple of days.  I just wanted to make sure that people knew what they were getting into, given that a couple of people had suggested the books for a book club. :)

I didn't take it as you were speaking bad about the books (figured you must be reading them (yes I'm that good at guessing books people have or are Reading :o ;D  -actually from reading your other posts on the board) but wanted to point out (for you and others) that Outlander is just as long so people wouldn't be worried about voting for it.

Though on slightly off tp.....when is he ever going to finish the series??? I'm dying to know what happens and now need to read them again to remind myself of what's going on

    theresam

PS: It doesn't bother me if people don't like the books I do... BUT I draw the line when someone disses Jamie and Clair!!! ;D ;) :-*

Getting back on topic of the Book Klubs, just so folks know, all of the books members have suggested are great book club selections, and may be future book clubs; it's just that we have to pick just a few at a time.  So, be patient, if your book isn't one of the ones we do next, it may very well be in the tier after that.

It's highly original, especially for a "re-imagining" of such a well-known work.  But I can't say I enjoyed it at all.  LR just loved it, however, and bought every book in the series.

Thanks - I think I am going to try it. I have read a different one from him (not in that series) that I liked, so decided to give it a try (especially since friends of mine have told me it was good). When i get around to reading it - i will let you know what i think.
