Book Licences
« on: October 24, 2012, 05:52:01 pm »
I tried to put a book on my new PW, but it says that I used up the book licences. I then deleted the book from my KDXG. I thought that would do the trick, but the message says something about deregistering a kindle, then deleting the book or vice versa. I have my PW charging now, so I am waiting to check it again. Has someone here gone through this? If I deregister & then re-register the device, won't the licence still be there?

Did you sync the DX before you tried to download the book?  You have to let Amazon know to free up the license.

Yes, I had synced. I put on the Wireless/3G. The good news is that it worked tonight. I was able to send the book to my new Fire HD. So if I want to send the book to my PW, I will just delete & sync that book off another kindle. I can't figure why the message said that I should deregister 1 of my devices as I have never heard of that before. I did read that message 3 times.

Typically, you can have the book on six devices simultaneously.  However, some manufacturers have lower limits.  You can see how many devices are allowed on the product page on Amazon.  Kindle apps count towards the device limit, I believe.
