MANY more Stephen King books now Kindleized!!
« on: October 15, 2009, 11:01:55 am »
I have been clicking "I want to read this book on Kindle" for The Eyes of the Dragon for almost a year now... and it is finally available..... along with MANY more of Stephen King's novels.  Per an interview with Stephen years ago, he one day realized that he had never written a book that his (then) teenage daughter could read, so he wrote The Eyes of the Dragon.  It is written as a fairy tale - with Stephen King touches..... and it's wonderful for adults too!!
So, if you're a Stephen King fan and have been disappointed that your favorite books have not been available for Kindle up until now.... be sure to check out Amazon..... you may be pleasantly surprised like I was!!

    I also wanted to add...

Yesterday, I was talking to a friend about Kindle...and she asked me how many books were available on Kindle, so I looked...the number was 631,500 or around about there...and today it's 363,400, so they've added 2,000 books just in the past 24 hours!

I'm assuming the first number should be 361,500.   ;D

I've been waiting for "Cujo," one of the first King books I read long ago, and it's now available for $6.39:

    http://www.amazon.com/Cujo/dp/B002SKZBVI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=digital-text&qid=1255637365&sr=1-1

Wonder how many other SK books were just added - add titles you've found!

I'm not positive.... but I'm thinking that maybe The Body was made into the movie Stand By Me?????

I grabbed Insomnia, one of my very favorites.  I know a lot of people don't like that one, but I can read that one over and over and it never gets old for me.

I am also looking at The Long Walk, which was a Richard Bachman book back in the day.

Delores Claiborne, It, and Needful Things are all on my "To Be Bought" list...along with Gerald's Game, and Rose Madder, and Misery...

I can't help it, I'm a collector.  I will very likely end up with every. single. SK. book. in Kindle version by Christmas, and will add to my collection as they become available.

Of course you are right, that's what I get for trying to fire off a post when I'm getting ready for work.  :)

First The Eyes of the Dragon and then I have to have It and Needful Things.  My grown son has read SK but had to stop reading Needful Things because it "creeped him out" too much.  It is intense.... but I love it!  I'm just so glad that they got these additional books Kindleized finally!  We still need Pet Semetary.... but I'm sure they're working on it too.  I need to tell my three sons that the only thing I want for Christmas is Amazon gift cards!!

I also got Firestarter. I used to have several shelves of SK hardbacks, love his early stuff. I went through a clearing out of my books about 10 years ago and weaned out a lot, now what's left I give away when I add the title to my kindle. Hoping to reclaim more space eventually.

I'm a big Stephen King fan for many years now.  One of my goals is to read his entire collection again, and read the books I've missed along the way.  I'm so glad to see that so many of them are now kindleized, as I've lost many of the DTBs along the way.

I'm also VERY glad to see that TTS is enabled on the large selection of Stephen King's Kindle books that became available on October 2! I'm rationalizing the purchase of a LARGE selection of these now - before the publisher decides to disable TTS!

I was happy to find this thread.  I haven't read some of Stephan King's older books in 20 years.  It will be fun to re-read them on my Kindle.
