Actually, the funnies are a good training ground for people like us. The artists/writers boil down a story to a small series of panels. Three or four during the week and Sat, more on Sun. Think of each one as a scene or chapter.

A novel on football, love and family; a funny baseball short story; and a thriller

Huh, interesting. Apparently Pearls doesn't appear in my Sunday comics, just Mon-Sat.  And I never even noticed.  (Double huh.   :-\ )

I love Pearls, but this comic was wholly unrealistic.

    Hi,

a reminder that sometimes a question is just a question, not an opportunity to mention one's own stuff.  There was a cleanup required in aisle three.  The cabana boys are taking care of it.  They accept tips. ;)

    Time to start a protest!

I know, right??  :o  Even worse, today the front page of my comics section had repeats from Nov 10.  I thought I was psychic because I "knew" how the comics would end.  Turns out I'd seen them before.  Luckily the other pages were new, and the internet exists, so I'm good now.  Crisis averted.    8)

I'm amazed that our obsessions have gone mainstream enough to appear in a comic!
