My first book? Two years, I think. I can't even imagine the ROI on that time as I've never published that thing. Probably never will. Some things aren't even good enough to slap on KDP under a pen name. :)

    I can't break what I do down into hours, being organic with my words. I don't outline. I let the characters lead me by the hand. I do average two 14 pt, single-spaced pages a day, seven days a week, so a book every four months. 80,000 words on average for each novel.  :)

    My 110k word epic fantasy novel (under a different pen name and written with a co-author) took me around 350 hours, editing and revising included.

    My erotica novelette (13k words) probably took me around 45-50 hours. I'm a fairly slow writer though.
