Hi Winter9 - hope you're having a good evening!  My day is going great so far...

The sun is shining and we're stuck inside doing some repairs.  Hubby is working on installing trim, I'm assisting and working on mucking out the garage, while Karen is laying under the citrus trees reading.  Lucky munchkin.

I bought myself a 24hr thermos to store tea in.  It keeps it hot for 24 hours and I can have tea with no effort.

    Sleep well.

I've told several people about Elfhunter and how awesome it is, so now they are waiting for my son to finish so they can start! Two people at work are trying to decide between the kindle and the nook and my friend does not have a kindle, she likes holding books in her hands and turning pages, weird, huh? lol!  I tell everyone I can't imagine how I ever lived without my kindle and I will NEVER be without one again.  Ever.   And when I receive the update, the addition of collections will make everything right in my world so I can have all my samples together and I don't have to advance past 5 pages of James Patterson, 13 pages of Nora Roberts and 6 pages of Sherrilyn Kenyon .... I'm up to 70 pages now, so now I am trying to figure out how I want to organize .... In addition to my spreadsheet I also have a word document of the book descriptions and another one of the sample descriptions because having whispernet on to check them out really drains the battery and sometimes I have a hard time deciding what I want to read...

I am back home after the May meeting of the Tucson Origami Club. We had fun even if we are not elves. ;)

Stacydan, did you put a copy of your book description document on your Kindle? I am so glad we have the ability to put our own documents on the Kindle as well as books and samples. ;D

Today was cranes as the Tucson Botanical Society is working on an exhibit that will include 1000 cranes. At the beginning of the meeting they still needed 400 and I think now they only need about 200 more. After the standard crane was taught, I taught the Phoenix Crane (designed by Charles Esseltine) to four people who wanted something more challenging (two kids and two unrelated adults).

I debated for a long time whether I should get Karen the page a day origami calendar.  The paper folding would appeal to her, but she saves EVERYTHING and I could see hundreds of tiny paper things all over her room if she got into it.

Stacydan, I thought I would miss turning pages, but after 30 minutes with my kindle that worry was over!  I read a dtb the other day, hated having to hold it open and missed the dictionary several times.

    Morning, Winter!

Origami is the art of folding paper to make three-dimensional art. A 'paper airplane' is a very primitive, but familiar, example.  :)

I've been wanting to see that one. It looks like the kind of silly, funny movie I enjoy.

    Morning, Winter!

Origami is the art of folding paper to make three-dimensional art. A 'paper airplane' is a very primitive, but familiar, example.  :)
Archer, great short definition! My current favorite paper airplane is the F-14 Tomcat by Michael LaFosse. It is not too difficult to fold, flys OK, and looks good. The image below is one I found on malachus Flicker page:

In the spirit of writing nothing in particular in hopes of winning, I will enter my 300 page thesis on the difference between Orcs and Olcas, with emphasis on their individual differences from goblins.

    Oh, all right, I won't.

    It's you, K...

Pick your prize! A t-shirt? A poster? A map? (You already have all three DTB, right?) A book for someone else as a gift?
