Brilliant - I've vague memories of him suing to get his name expunged from all marketing materials for Lawnmower Man, he hated it that much...

Probably didn't help that it had absolutely nothing to do with his story.

Probably not. I've still not bothered to see the film, but the short story is a personal favourite.

Haven't read the interview but I remember one he did years ago. He loved Shawshank Redemption and Creepshow (The Crate). All the rest? "Meh..."

Great read. Having co-written a script for my novel CURE when it was optioned, I have a lot of respect for anyone that can distill a book into under 120 script pages. I had to do it with a relatively short book (70,000 words) and we had to cut whole characters out. How King does it is with as long as his books are is beyond me. In my case, I wasn't thinking about a movie being made from my book when I wrote it. Who does, really? The option was a shock! That it didn't get exercised (aka no film made), not so much.
