KBoards Forum Posting Levels

On KBoards, as members participate, their activity is rewarded by new posting levels.  Here is a complete list of our current posting levels and the number of posts needed to achieve them. Most level names will be self explanatory (or you can Google for more information).  Two levels are of special note.

The first is level Jeffry S. Hepple at post count 9808.  Jeff was the 95th member to join KBoards, on Oct 28, 2008 and contributed to the forum on many levels from member and author to the Librarian who maintained author listings to help our membership in book discovery.  Jeff was always ready to help other members and pitch in when we needed help with the forum.  Jeff passed away on April 28, 2014.  This level is the number of posts Jeff had when he passed away.

The second is level Harvey Chute at post count 12052.  Harvey Chute was the founder of KBoards, then KindleBoards, on November 27, 2007.  KBoards owes its active and friendly community to Harvey's prescience in creating the forum almost a year before the Kindle boom started and to his "love all, moderate all" philosophy of leadership here which set the tone.  And also to the the cool forum-based tools/toys he created for readers and authors.  Harvey passed away September 25, 2015.  Harvey's family owned and managed the site until August 2018 and are still active on it.  This level is the number of posts Harvey had when he passed away.

It was so much fun when Harvey wanted to add posting levels and we were all trying to suggest new authors to use at what levels.  Scheherazade at 1001, Orwell at 1984, Clarke at 2001, Jules Verne at 20,000.  Now the tribute levels to Jeff and Harvey - just perfect.  Jeff is my next level; it may take me a while to get there, but one of these days I'll make it.

That was fun, wasn't it? I enjoyed looking at the thread.  And maybe we'll have to come up with new ones again, one of these days!  It was a really good suggestion to make a sticky post--one wonders why we didn't do that before, LOL!  Shows that our membership keeps working together to make this a better place all the time.

You'll get to Jeff!  I'll never be (or have been) a Jeff Hepple or Harvey Chute, but at least I knew them both!

I really enjoyed this. It's one of the first things I noticed when I joined. And I appreciate the special categories to remember Jeff and Harvey. Requiescat in pace.
