Best birthday gift

What do you get a mom who is turning 70 and has everything?  Turns out you buy a first addition of her favorite book signed by the author!
My 3 daughters surprised me with a first addition of Beach Music signed by Pat Conroy.  In addition, it included a clip from a newspaper review of the book which is also signed.  I was stunned...didn't know they even knew of my favorite book.  The fact that Conroy passed also was very touching to me.  Do I have terrific kids, or what? :D

That is so AWESOME! Gives me some ideas, too. [ETA: cleaned up my grammar!]

    Carol in 'burque

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to Skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and shouting: Damn-What a ride!

In 20/20 hindsight, probably a can't-lose idea for any true book lover. :)

    Happy birthday!
