Good Girls Revolt
« on: December 04, 2016, 09:56:14 am »
I am sad that Good Girls Revolt is not being renewed on Amazon.  This, despite a nice audience and good reviews.  I am hoping they change their mind or some other network picks it up.

Wasn't it based on a book? Maybe the story is complete so there's no need for another season?

I'm looking forward to the third season of Mozart in the Jungle, myself.

Yeah, I'm upset, too.  I've given Amazon feedback that I was disappointed.  I got a response that my feedback had been forwarded to the appropriate people (it was actually quite a long response, I was kind of surprised).

I understand it's being shopped around.  Maybe Netflix will pick it up. *fingers crossed*. Or Hulu.

No, the story isn't completed.  Not even close.  :(

Maybe you should start a thread for that.  :P

It is based on a book, but the show is much better. I bought the book only because of the show, but it was pretty dry reading. And as far as the story being complete, well, sad to say, it definitely isn't. In fact, it's still pretty relevant today.

    Well, that's truly sucky.

Mind you, I don't watch much through the streaming services. The only reason I got started watching Mozart is that Colbert had the lead actor on and it sounded good and then we got snowed in for 4 days. It seemed a good thing to watch at the time. :) Though if it hadn't been already included with Prime I wouldn't have spent money to see it through another service.

My husband read the book and enjoyed it.  He likes the show, too, but complains about them sexing up the show unnecessarily, LOL.  He's kind of a stickler....

    OK, got it!

This was on my iPad, but when I go to this page, for the Prime video, there's a link that says "Send us Feedback" on the right under the buttons to Watch or Add to Wishlist.

I read today via TVGuide that Sony, who produced it, is shopping it to other streaming services.

Yes.  Hoping Netflix or Hulu will pick it up.  I think it would be a good catch for Hulu if they're trying to catch up with original series.  But, better yet if Amazon would change their mind!

I finished it today.  No more.  :(  Got up and pretty much sat down in front of the TV.  If Amazon doesn't change their mind, some other streaming service has got to pick it up.

I sent feedback a few days ago and got a canned response.  ::) I even tweeted the head honcho in charge of that division. Roy or Ray? Price. I read he didn't like the show and so he canceled it.

    That's what I heard, too.

I have to say, I don't think my response read canned...maybe they're getting so much feedback, they've started doing canned responses.

Seems a little ironic in my opinion.  A high powered male exec not liking a series with feminist content (despite the high viewership) and cancelling it despite the high viewer interest smacks of bias.  Granted, the men in the series are not pictured very sympathetically, but it is a story about the early feminist days in the US after all.
