Kdp select, freebies, and strategy for building a list
« on: July 14, 2017, 07:50:30 pm »
Hi guys

I am not expecting miracles at all. I only have one book out under this pen name right now. I thought I would use it to start to build a list while I got the next one written. It is being read, as I can see in the graphs from the lending library. That's exciting, but no list building :)

I have had three freebie days out of five so far - lots of downloads, but no list building.

So my question is...

Since I have 2 freebie days left in this run is there something strategic, that is legit with amazon, that I can do to get that book out there into many hands, and hopefully land some subscribers?

Love to hear any thoughts!

TS

Pull your book out of KU pronto, upload to Instafreebie an collect email addresses. Nope, this is not allowed while you're in KU. As benefit, you can now also sell your book on other platforms.

    Part 2: write book 2.

I didn't know I could pull it out of KU. Instafreebe - good to know!

    Thank you :)

You'll have to wait until the 90 days are up, then what Patty said.

What the others suggested is a good idea however you can also write a short story or share an excerpt of your book (as long as it is less than 10%) on instafreebie. When you do that, be sure to join group promotions with other authors (you can usually find these on Facebook). Don't just put your book on instafreebie and leave it alone. That isn't the optimal way to get readers. If you need help finding promos, you can PM me.

From my experience it is the best platform to grow your list by attracting people who will (hopefully) go on to purchase your books. Of course there are the freebie seekers, but if you get them interested in your writing, then they will purchase.

I hope that helped  :) Best of luck on your journey! Here's to many more page reads & sales  ;D
    I read, therefore I am.
