Fellow authors:

Need your help. I have a BookBub deal and some other promos leading up to it for my novel, The Girl From Long Guyland, in a few days and need people to contact Amazon ASAP and let them know about a lower price. I am happy to reciprocate with anyone in the same situation.  Thanks in advance. Best, Lara

For those of you who have never requested a "price match" from Amazon, here's what you do:
1. Go to my book's Amazon page.  http://www.amazon.com/Girl-Long-Guyland-ebook/dp/B00A45OYD0
2. Scroll down to the end of Product Details and click on a link that says "Tell us about a lower price."
3. Amazon will ask you to send links to where you saw the book at a lower price.
3. Copy and paste the links I've provided below to iTunes, B&N, Kobo, and Smashwords. Thanks so much in advance.

You can do it yourself. Go into the bookshelf, help, contact us, and msg them, quoting the other places where its free.
Should be done inside 24 hours.
Just make sure it's not priced anywhere else.

I've done that already and it's still not free.

I've done that already and it's still not free.
Usually that means there is still a priced version out there somewhere.
It works the other way as well. Going free back to priced doesn't happen as long as there is a free version anywhere.

Sorry to be a downer... but I've been waiting for over 4 weeks for price matching and had to cancel a free promo... not BB, that would have been soul crushing, but hard enough as it is. Amazon keeps matching, then it reverts to paid a day later... then back to free. They keep telling me it's a glitch they're trying to fix, meanwhile I can get nothing going for momentum since the rankings are a mess.

I have a couple more perma frees for other series they keep telling me they will match--but then I keep getting we need more time messages and another 4-5 days later nothing has happened so I email them again, and same thing... sorry, we need more time.

I recently left KU and went wide. I've been trying to set up book 1 perma frees and a couple of bundle freebies for almost a month now. Other authors are not having this issue are are getting matched within a day or two, and in the past that was the case for me too.

Anyway... price matching is not a guarantee and they can choose to be fickle now and then.

Is it really a glitch in my case? NO idea... starting to feel like I'm going in circles and they've just decided not to price match and are dragging out just telling me they aren't going to for whatever reason.

So sorry to hear your saga about the price matching fiasco. It's like a Catch 22. I was afraid to start theFREE  price matching too soon out of fear that BB and the other promo sites would think I wasn't giving a legitimate  deal to their subscribers. Now, I'm just biting my nails hoping for a response.

Good luck with your promos in the future. I would write a nice e-mail to Jeff Bezos and explain what has happened to you.  jeff@amazon.com
