Have you used BookRunes?

I'm considering using them to advertise a free sci-fi. Thanks!

They gave me a free run when they were getting up and running, and I got a reasonable number of downloads.  Minor player at the time, of course, but I've not tried them since to gauge profitability.  They were very easy to deal with though, so I'd probably give them another run again.

Thanks ... ease of use is worth something definitely. Hmm  ...

    Anyone else?

I used them in June last year. Paid $25 and had 130 downloads of my PNR freebie. Not worth it IMO.

I gave it some thought but finally decided $25 wasn't worth the risk, especially since not many on this board had used them. Once the price gets past $10 I like to hear a few people say it was worth it.

I had the same results as Escapee. At $25 for 130 downloads, it's not worth the return.
They also cold emailed me wanting to solicit for advertising for the same title a few days after I'd already made a booking, so that turned me off for good.

Most ads I've bought in the past two years (other than AMS) have shown such poor ROI I might as well have taken my money and set it on fire.

The one promo that almost paid for itself (for me) was with Fussy Librarian.  Came within $2.05, assuming that certain follow-on purchases of my other works were a result of the aftermaterial in the book that was promoted.

I had an exceptionally good promo with Fussy Librarian recently, too. I think Jeffrey is aggressively added subscribers. Nice to see.

The BookRunes people are nice and very easy/helpful to work with. They were US$7 to start out, now more expensive, US$25 I think. I throw a few bucks at them sometimes strictly for the exposure in the countries they focus on, which are (from memory) Australia, UK, Canada, perhaps India? I used them in conjunction with an international BookBub for those countries, to get the juice flowing in those countries the day or two before the bookbub, along with a few other promos.
