Copyright registration fees might be going up
« on: June 05, 2018, 07:14:26 PM »
I was digging around the copyright.gov site today and I found that they are "looking into" raising registration fees.  According to https://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2018-05-24/pdf/2018-11095.pdf they want to raise the fee from $35 to $55 for an electronic registration.

One can cast their opinion on this until until July 23.  If you go to https://www.copyright.gov/rulemaking/feestudy2018/ there is a comment button that takes you to https://www.regulations.gov/document?D=COLC-2018-0005-0001 where you can comment via the button on the top right.  Not sure if it will make that much difference unless they get a flood of negative messages from authors.

I left mine. Thank you for the heads-up.

I left my comment, but I doubt it will do any good.
