You're entitled. But I think I'll pretend I don't really care which team wins. I do respect some of the Nats but sometimes it is sure hard to support a rival of the Braves.   :)

I wondered whether you would start a thread!  Should be a great World Series, I plan to watch every minute.

I'd definitely support the Braves over the Yankees.  ;D  In fact I'd probably have to support any National League team over the American League, with a few exceptions.

Fun fact: The Nats and the Astros share a Spring Training facility in West Palm Beach. We expect to be there next February for the opening Spring Training game, which will be the two teams playing each other.

:( I expect I'll be staying up way too late all week. :)

I'm always in a little bit of a quandary as my early years were spent following American League teams, even the Yankees at one time. Too much moving around as a child, I guess, although we never lived anywhere close to NY until the 2 years spent in Ontario in my late teens and I was not a Yankee fan by that time.

Yes, great baseball this entire playoffs ...    Have no favorite in this series, but would not mind the Nationals winning for the first time ever.

Having grown up in Boston, and in Los Angeles, hard to root for any one but Sox and Dodgers - but love the games and mute the commercials  !!!

It was a really good game last night, very evenly matched and I thought both teams played good ball!  I expected the Game 1 home field/crowd advantage to be a problem for the Nats, but they stayed very focused and I was impressed.

I don't really have a favorite team between these two, but because the Nats swept my Cardinals out of the playoffs, I actually want them to win - I think it "sounds" better to have been knocked out by the eventual champs!  ::) ;D

:o :o :o  An evenly matched, well-played, tie ballgame until the top of the 7th, then Holy Cow!

I would have lost big money had I bet my belief that the Nationals could not take both of the first two games IN Houston.  I'm looking forward to getting to sleep at a reasonable hour with no game tonight even though I will probably take a nap this afternoon.  :D

They've been doing that all season though* .... Still, I was half asleep at the bottom of the 6th so decided to 'change my seat' and went to bed. I did the same thing when they played the Wild Card game against Milwaukee and they came from behind and won. I did it also on one of the LA games where they were behind ... and I woke up and Howie Kendrick had hit a grand slam and they won the game. Once again, I woke up to good news this morning. ;D

*Arguably: it's what their season has a whole has been -- not great to start but coming on really strong at the end. And I saw a statistic that, over the course of the season, 41% of their runs have been scored when they already had 2 outs in an inning.

;D  My grandkids are pleased I've learned the Baby Shark lyrics.  Are you trying to get tickets for any games?  I've been to post-season games, but never to the World Series.  That would be so awesome.

But proud of these Nats either way.

It was pretty amazing ... I couldn't stay awake for all the after game hoopla, but recorded it ... will watch today.

SO happy for Ryan Zimmerman -- the first player drafted when the team came back to DC in 2005 -- he's seen it all.
Also, Strasburg -- management got a lot of hate male when they shut him down in 2012 because he was still coming back from Tommy John Surgery. But it paid off this year.
Max gutted it out -- even without his best stuff -- Sunday he couldn't lift his arm above his head!
Corbin came in to pitch brilliantly in relief.
Rendon -- ought to be MVP of the league this year.
Kendrick, Eaton, Soto -- all had clutch hits when needed.
And Martinez should be manager of the year!

Congratulations to the Nats. And I do like seeing the Series go 7 games.

I'm ready for next year, though, so Braves fans can be disappointed again.

Yeah ... when people want to talk football now, I'll have to stop saying, "but it's still baseball season." ::)

The key was, the Nats fans kind of started out disappointed ... by Memorial day most fans were just hoping for a winning season. Fortunately, the guys actually playing the game never gave up. Max Scherzer pitched one game with a broken nose. Trea Turner played most of the season unable to fully bend his right index finger. And Max couldn't even dress himself on Sunday -- his pitching wasn't his best last night, but he kept 'em in the fight.

Some of the commentary going around here are on the order of:

WS t-shirt $35, getting to the WS: Bryceless

He wanted to help the team get to the WS -- and he did by leaving for Philly.

Who needs Bryce Harper when you have Jan Soto

Publicly he's saying:  love Philly, happy with my decision -- but I'm sure privately he's annoyed. ::)

Letting him go is what allowed the Nats to pick up critical players like Corbin, Sanchez, Hudson, Parra, Suzuki, Gomes, and Cabrera, and keep Kendrick, Soto, Eaton, and Robles in the lineup. And Sanchez, Parra, and Dozier especially were the catalysts for the chemistry in the clubhouse and, though perhaps not every day players, or even 'big role' players, the title is thanks as much to them as to anyone.

Football?  Football??    We all know football, basketball, and hockey are fillers separating the World Series from Spring Training.

Well, to be honest, in most years, my baseball season has ended in September or early October. ::) This is the first year it's gone to the end -- I just don't follow the playoffs as closely when it's not a team I care about -- certainly don't stay up well past midnight like I have the last two nights! :o ;D

And I do enjoy football -- but the local team is not worth cheering for at all. The hubs is an Ohio State alumni, so he keeps up with their football team. Besides that, I watch football just to watch it. Same with hockey, though I do follow the Capitals even if I don't watch as much. Basketball -- meh -- I played in HS, but find it pretty dull to watch.

Glad your team won - it's always a rush right down to the last out.  I saw the Red Sox catch the yankees in a game 1 - 10, and Red Sox slowly hung in caught them 10-10 ... and bizarre.  We've had our ups and downs over the years, but we never know until the final out which teams prevail...  But, born a Red So fan, and die a Red Sox fan -just not right away, I hope -

Hooraw for Baseball, the American Sport !!!
