Possible to read PC version on Kindle device?
« on: June 29, 2020, 08:17:07 am »
I downloaded the free (for prime membership) "The Vine Witch", on my Surface Pro 4 syncing with its Kindle PC app.  I thought my partner would like the eBook so I connected her kindle to my PC and dragged and dropped the folder into "documents" on her Kindle.  She has an amazon account separate from mine. The ebook did not even show up even after a reset of the kindle.  The content file ends in azw but it was not recognized.  Is what I did possible?

Thanks for reading.

You can't copy protected kindle files from device to device. They have to be downloaded from the account to each device. So if the book is in the account the kindle has to be on the same account to download the book. That is how the DRM works with kindle books.
