Looking for Feedback for a writing app
« on: June 30, 2020, 03:05:46 am »
I have started on the path of developing a writing app.
As I have most of what I'd like in the HTML/design, I figured now was a perfect time to ask for some feedback.
I would love some feedback for the site.
NOTE.. it is not currently functional. It's really just a rough of the design.. Sort of like a second draft waiting for some developmental editing.

The site is www.sparrow.press

Needs a video tutorial. Or at least explanation to expand on purpose of each feature.

    100%.. Thank you.
The planned features will include text prompts for many things, and embedded videos are an excellent idea.

This is just a very small thing, but personally I think the exclamation mark in the "start now" button is unnecessary. I think it would look cleaner and more professional to omit it.

First, thanks for sharing.  The first page of the app has all the real estate for a title and a button.  It may help your early readers to have the tutorials or videos Decon mentioned as clickable images or icons underneath the Start button and moving that up a bit.  I like the idea and realize it is early in the creation, so it will be interesting to see how this evolves for you.

I am thinking a video (or at least some text) under each question button.
On first visit a user would see prompts and stuff, to help them know what things are.

The calendar view is to support the book (2 to 10k). I will of course cite the book, as she did a great job

My main concern right now is colour and feel of the app. Help screens and such will expand as users experience pain points.

Thanks for all the comments.  The video idea was awesome.
