Those are definitely some good goals there. It all sounds pretty doable, but will take some serious work. Good luck buckling down and getting it all done. I'd like to have goals like these, but I'm kinda realistic sometimes. Maybe someday.
And, good advice from Buckaroo on making sure to still enjoy it. I'm definitely going to always keep that one in mind. But I think this year I really want to focus on just getting things made and maybe dive deeper into the marketing side next year. Kind of have a whacky idea to start recording music and maybe make a youtube channel, so I have to set goals knowing that my spare time might be less than usual.
But personally I'd like to:
- Finish the last book of a series. It's all sorted out in my head and now I just actually have to do a thing.
- Get some covers done. I've had this handshake deal with a friend of a friend to do some covers for me, but at some point I have to say, are we doing this or not. I actually like my current cover, but I realize that my girlfriend's hiking photos may not be exactly what the market is into.
- Explore fanfic. I've written a fanfic movie and I know nothing about it so I want to see what other people are doing out there before I throw it up on the internet. Not super important, but it took some effort and I want to make sure I have some idea what's what.
- Start something brand new and completely different. After the last book in the series is done I want to explore something else. If nothing else, just to keep me interested.
I feel much less legit next to the OPs smart goals, but I know where I'm headed, and it's to the party not the bank. At least in 2021.
