IT's the "&tag=kbpst-20" that is critical as I understand it.

Harvey: I just did my first post in the Book Bazzar but try as I might, I could not get my book's Kindle bookcover image to become "clickable." I know this was/is my one and only opening shot and that I can't "bump" this post for at least another week, but is there any way I can make this image linkable? I used the older version of Link Maker, several times, but no soap. I guess I could add a tiny URL link to the book's Kindle page but I'd really rather have a clickable image like everyone else!

    Thanks,

If you look at the following code, this is what yours should look like. I have added spaces after the [url, and the first and second img  , so that you can see the whole code. If you copy that code, paste it where you want, delete the three spaces, it should work. To make the image smaller, insert a space followed by height=125, or what ever size you need. It should look like this: img height=125

When you mention a book in your posts to this forum, you can provide a link to Amazon's Kindle Store for that book. You can even insert a picture of the bookcover and make that a clickable link to the Kindle Store. It's convenient! And cool!

And we've developed a tool that makes it fairly painless. Better yet, the tool embeds our affiliate info, so that helps keep our site working for you.

Check out our Amazon Link Maker at https://www.kboards.com/link

Thanks for using the Link Maker tool!

    Hi,
I'm new here and just used the link maker tool. It works just fine, but my image is way too large. How do I make it smaller for my signature?

    Thanks

Hello and welcome! I updated it your signature for you. But FYI, to make it smaller I changed the [img] link to say "img height=120" and that adjusted the picture size.

^ It's a bit more complex to make an e-book cover link. Here is a good set of instructions:

This thread is sticked at the top of the Writer's Caf, and has step by step instructions, as well as instructions for different web browsers:

Your operating system is irrelevant, and you do not need Photobucket to post a pic that is already on the web.

I'm assuming you're trying to make a book cover link for the book below?

Here's some code that should work:

    Code: [Select]

Just copy/paste that code into the signature area of your profile.

This thread (geared towards our authors) is sticked at the top of the Writer's Caf, and has all the instructions:

Signature Book Cover links and Profile (avatar) pics - A Tutorial

    Specifically, from the tutorial:

Copy your book cover's image URL by right-clicking on the pic and choosing the image URL

To copy the book cover image from the Amazon product page, how you proceed depends on your web browser software.

-- If you are using Firefox, it is very easy: right-click on any picture and choose Copy Image Location. I am using Firefox. What does this look like?

-- If you are using Safari, it is very easy: right-click on any picture and choose Copy Image Address. I am using Safari. What does this look like?

-- If you are using Internet Explorer, right-click on any picture and choose Properties, then you must choose and copy the entire Address, which may take up several lines which you cannot see. It is imperative that you choose the entire Address, or your picture will not appear. I am using Internet Explorer. What does this look like?

Great big huge props--way to go, Harvey!  I've missed being able to do this so easily since the Kindle part broke last year, and now it even works beautifully with the iPad!  **applause applause**

Hi there, This is my first post and I'm introducing myself.  Unfortunately with a problem.  I have been unable to make the text/link function work.  I have tried (and tried), can't figure out what (if anything) I'm doing wrong and would very much appreciate any help/advice.  I'm on a Mac using Safari.  Here's an example from a post today:

    ruth harris says:

    LOVE AND MONEY

I'm a NYTimes bestselling author who writes for grown-up women. According to the West Coast Review of Books LOVE AND MONEY is "An ideal book...Ruth Harris has done a miraculous mob of entwining the lives of two women in a totally believable and fascinating way. She is a talented writer who has come up with a novel so entertaining and interesting you won't have to hide if someone asks you what you're reading."

The Fort Lauderdale News Sun-Sentinel said:
"Fast-paced, superior fiction with a zinging sense of style. A skillfully written, highly commercial page-turner, LOVE AND MONEY is also a series of carefully drawn character studies, insightful psychological portraits of people driven by the need for love, the hunger for money and the fear of death. Harris makes these characters and the joys and tragedies of their lives exciting and believable. With a narrative style that is crisply precise and descriptive, an unerring ear for dialogue and an overall tone that is strongly reminiscent of Susan Isaacs, Harris has written a terrifically satisfying `good read.'"

I am delighted to join the electronic age and look forward to a new group of readers.

    http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51pxABqvgRL._SL160_.jpg[/img]

PS: I made these image links in Amazon's link maker. Does anyone know why the code and not the cover images show? I would very much appreciate any help/insight on this.

    This is what you pasted:

    http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51x6qqDHxPL._SL160_.jpg[/img]

    http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51pxABqvgRL._SL160_.jpg[/img]

I don't know how you got the portion that I highlighted in RED, but the link-maker did not create that. The link-maker would have put the URL of your book on Amazon there instead. I suggest you try again, and don't alter the code.
