Scifi Author reporting for duty

Hey there everyone. I originally made my first post in the book bazaar... and then I found this forum. Thought I'd pop in and introduce myself. Nice to meet all of you! My main passion is science fiction, although I am also obsessed with apocalypse scenarios. I write to fulfill my hunger; my need to have that "perfect" story. I'm really picky when it comes to stories and although I enjoy a lot of what I read, nothing fully satisfies my thirst.

My 1st book literally throws you into the mind of a confused and amnesic man named Dante. He was there, at ground zero, when all Hell broke loose. Yet, after a certain point, everything is completely blank. Six years later, it all begins to come back - just in time to distract him from what's going on behind the scenes. I wrote this story memory by memory. Dante gives you a little taste of the present and then slips into a memory. That memory stops and the present slams back into perspective and then, right before something really big happens, you're seeing the past again. To the more observant eye, you might notice that certain things are similar. But this is all part of the plan.

And then you reach a certain point when his memories finally fill themselves out - too late to save the lives of those he'd sworn to protect. Maybe even too late to save himself.

There's a bigger story behind this novel though. To some, it may seem like it's just about zombies and the end of the world. But what made me write this book -- what made me take a page and a half of some crappy little short story and transform it into this 80,000 word novel, was love. Poisonous love and a shattered heart. I thought for a long time that this book could be my special little slice of revenge. I thought that, once it was published, she'd be browsing the Internet and she'd find it and realize that I wasn't just yanking her chain when I told her, the very last time we spoke, that I was going to write a book. I was going to write a book and it was because of her.

It's all because of her.

But now, I'm just working on my next story, Osiris-9. An epic space traveler's dream gone horrible wrong.

Again, nice to meet all of you. ;)

Hi, Ryan. I also love Sci-fi and apocalyptic scenarios. I've recently started sketching some characters for a post-apocalyptic concept I thought out. Maybe I'll make a short graphic story. Hope you succeed with your book. Best of luck.
