Best Buy and Kindle Fire
« on: November 03, 2011, 11:16:26 am »
You can Pre order the Kindle Fire from Best Buy, they will have them on release date at least for the pre orders. When you pre order they give you a $50 gift card for best buy that you can use towards the purchase price on the kindle (or anything else in the store that you want) making the price $150 if you use your gift card.

I just checked this out on Slick Deals. From what I'm reading, you pay $50 toward the pre-order, get a $50 BB gift card, and have to pay $199+tax when you pick it up in store. Total net savings of (tax).

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

You do pay $50 first but that go towards your order, so you have to pay $150 when you pick it up, if you use the $50 gift cert they give you to go towards that then $100 comes out of your pocket making the total coming out of your pocket $150.

Multiple sites are discussing this (see also: http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/hot-deals/1132226/ )

It's apparently how BB does pre-orders. You pay $50 up front. You get a $50 gift card. You pick up the device and pay $149 plus the $50 gift card. I'd have to go into the store to verify this myself, but enough people are saying that's how it works that I can believe it.
