Thanks for this - I'm having to explain to others why I suddenly burst out laughing!  :-[

What did you expect, in that topic?  ;D

There is an example at Smashwords you could get inspiration from.

When I put all my hopes into that promo for my hard-to-save novel, and it backfires:

For serials, it does make a lot more sense to wait to start publishing until you've got the whole season ready (or close to it). That way you can ensure the story's structure is sound before you start letting it loose on the world.

This. When I edit my episodes, I make sure everything is okay with the rest of the season/series.

Oh wait, mine are working again.

Everything's right in the world.

On looking at your books, it seems you had a download of your permafree on Sept 19.    Also from your other author page, might I assume you are french.
:)

WAS IT YOU?  :-*
That download warmed my body with hope for many a night, while the wolves were circling me and the freezing wind puffed the flame of my last candle-end.

(And oui, I am).  ;)

lol your scroll is too fast.  It took like three times for me to be able to catch the tentacle website.

Nah nah nah, that is my pen name website... totally normal to find tentacles there, since I write tentacle smut!

I'm talking about doing my PRO website with tentacles!  ;D ;D ;D
Not in the sig: http://nathalieaynie.com/ (working on switching everything to my maiden name before the big separation of 2014)

Writers' Cafe / Re: Favorite Erotica Writer?

Who is your favorite erotica writer? Can you explain what is that makes them stand out from the rest?

They're not erotica writers per se, but can write a FAFFING SMUTXY book: Elle and Mimi.

Lacks tentacles, though, Mimi. Gotta work on that for Starthree.  :P

11
(Sorry, I'm generally not THAT excited, but I just put tentacles all over my pro website and I like it!)  ;D

12
muahaha, that's what you think anyway ;P and now you can't check to see if you are right.  Maybe the underwear gnomes just downloaded a thousand copies.

SHUT UP, SHUT UP, don't you dare make me hope!  ;D ;D ;D

13
I'm fake panicking anyway. No one downloads my books, not even the permafree one.  ;D

14
I have 16 more episodes in my Dark Fantasy/Horror series waiting for me to edit and publish. The end of the series is not written yet. For now I'll go on and try to focus on releasing the parts that are already written. All seasons have a satisfying ending, though they're not standalones.

CODE BLACK! CODE BLACK!

(I think it's okay now.)

TK

IT'S NOT OKAY HERE, SEND BRUCE WILLIS!!

STILL NOT BACK, DYING HERE!!!

Okay, so I am a mom of four and 3 are under the age of seven. Only one is home during the day, my 2yr old, but I find it difficult to write while she is home with me. I am wondering if there are other moms on here that have/had the same problem as me and what you did to fix it I guess.

In my book where a woman gets into an abusive situation, I've had reviewers say how unbelievable it is that she didn't get out sooner, see the signs, etc. Then I have other reviewers who say the story is right on, that they've been in that exact situation. Some people have trouble believing that things outside their experience actually happen.

THIS.

Hi,

I'm just about to make a boxed set of books that are all in KDP Select. Is this OK with Amazon? I don't see any rules saying you can't do that but before wading in wanted to check. Would only be selling on Amazon...

If the boxed set is only sold on Amazon as long as the KDP Select individual titles are, I think you're good to go.

Edited to add:
It goes both ways. You can't start reselling individual titles outside of Amazon as long as one of them is in the boxed set, if the boxet set is enrolled in KDP Select.

I sort of did, once.

I had a few reviews criticizing the depiction of the psychiatric hospital in my dark fantasy books.

Alright, of course, it's dark fantasy/horror, so of course the asylum is creepy, first of all.
And then, I also happen to know some psychiatric hospitals are creepy in the real world.

So I just wrote a blog post, to get it off my shoulders.
It's not directed to anyone in particular, but can serve as a reference as to why I write what I write.

Aw, poo. There's always going to be something for people to throw shade over.

- Authors who write quickly (how dare they!)
- Authors who write in a more popular/trendy genre
- Self-editors
- Everyone else who got approved for coveted advertisements
- Authors with big, juicy mailing lists
- Authors who have a spouse who either pays the bills or acts as a personal assistant/social media guru

You don't undestand. ANY achievement can and will be poo-pooed.  ;D
It's a mark of success, anyway. So roll in the poo-poo and be happy and go on doing what you're doing---because if it's poo-poo-worthy, it means you're doing something right!

Writers' Cafe / Re: Romance Writers: Can you help?
« on: November 15, 2013, 11:00:05 pm »
Clean romance:  the opposite of what I write.  ;-)

Glad I could help and happier yet that I could give you a smile!

Why? DO YOU WRITE ROMANCES THAT TAKE PLACE ON MUD?  :o :o :o

 :P

24
Ah, yes, but how many different words have you published?  Thousands of he's, she's, said's, and's, or's and is's only count once for each.

*cackles*

I love you, you're so evil!  ;D

25
Your prize: one eye licked.
Let me know which one!
